thinker, Gozz-
The quote is from the evil slave...er, I mean the WTBTS. I remember it from the mid '90's. Perhaps someone out there with the CDROM will provide the reference?

Hey Red!
The book is "Hogfather", and yep it's part of the discworld series (which I didn't even know was a series until you asked). My sis gave it to me for X-mas. I just started it. It took a while to perform the exorcism removing the demons that came with the X-mas wrapping paper and bows. It's safe now and I'm glad.
I love this guy's style. I don't like reading it in public places because people look at me kinda wierd when I sit staring at a book and frequently laugh. Maybe I should just start reading aloud so everyone knows that it's the book and not me?
The passage was, of course, taken out of context. I thought that made it even more appropriate -

Empty,
I thought I had you pegged too. When you chose to remain anonymous, I honored that with silence. You confirmed my suspicions when you changed the smiley, sticky tongue face* to the unhappy face. The real mystery here is who is empty'swife#?*the smiley, stickey tongue is so far my "all time favourite photo" that I've seen here
#emptyswife made an appearance yesterday in the chat room, which surprised the h### out of empty as he was not aware that he was married -

This seems to illustrate some common aspects of JW's: a closed mind, a lack of independent thinking, isolation from any information or ideas not sanctioned bt the WT.
"Wherever people are obtuse and absurd....and wherever they have, by even the most generous standards, the attention span of a small chicken in a hurricane and the investigative ability of a one-legged cockroach...and wherever people are inanely credulous, pathetically attatched to the certainties of the nursery and, in general, have as much grasp of the realities of the physical universe as an oyster has of mountaineering....." (Terry
Pratchett)
Oh! I'm sorry. I forgot that I decided to be nicer than I usually am.
(Please ignore the above unfinished quote and any presumably implied reference to an organized group of people some, or perhaps all, of us might be familiar with.) -

I may not agree with everything empty has to say....but at least he's there when you need him.
(Hate those typo's)...that's another thing, his typing is flawless.

Advantages of being a JW
by ISP inclearly there is a great deal of anti-jw sentiment here and elsewhere for that matter.
such feelings are generally directed at those at the heart of the organisation and there are no such feelings for the rank and file who are often very genuine people.. in actual fact there are some advantages in being a fully loaded jw and to be fair it would be interesting to note them down.
they can be factual or whimsical or both.

It's kinda hard to add anything new to this list, but how about this?
Being a JW lead me to Jehovahs-Witness.com -

I occasionally go to h20 and lurk. This guy is one of the reasons I visit.
(lifted off of h2o- posted by "unclebruce")
It is said that cows blood or at least parts of it are quite alright for transfusing to human beings. This I doubt, aren't there enough people with bull**** personalities walking about as it is! No it's not for yours truly. The effect of such treatment on a sensitive subject such as myself is hard to foresee. (as it is I sometimes get the urge to lay down in the grass and chew on a straw or just amble through it and moo)
Other more serious complications come to mind. One day a chap may find himself up before the wig charged with charging a policeman head-on in the stomach, his only defence that he'd had a bulls blood transfusion down at the abattoirs the day before. (New police regulation 76502: Henceforth no member of the NSW constablary is to carry a red handkerchief) ... Case dismissed. After several transfusions goodness knows what might happen. A man might find himself engaged to a hairy Scotish Shorthorn or worse still in a bout of bovine depression wander down to the butcher and give oneself up to the sawdusted feind. mmm, "bit boney" he says, "well there's been a bloody drought on OK!?" and before you know it, you're down some seedy alley, soup bones being boiled up and slopped into mugs for bums and alcoholics.
No, sorry Elder Lee, that's not for me, I've looked into many a pretty young heffers big solem eyes and I'm not the least bit inclined toward a matramonial attacment to one and as for ending my days as a rissole on Bathories bbq or rotting in the darkened back passage of some old drunk - forget it! No pleasure or dignity in any of that. If on the other hand, these cow transfusions, taken in moderation, give one that satisfied placidity most cows seem to have, I'm all for them. Pump a gallon into all the African tin pot dictators for a start. Perhaps a few of the more volitile posters on H20 could give it a go first. How about you Gpok? ... no that's no good .. how would we tell?
raving unclebruce, who's won no ribbons at the Royal Agricultural Show. -

Cj,
Frenchy’s first post was directed to you. His second was directed to Waiting. His observation about lust is accurate. Why confuse love with sex? Lust is defined as “an overwhelming desire, or intense sexual desire”. You and your boyfriend felt lust for each other and had sex. Why not just accept that and move on?
More importantly, why would anyone blame you for the actions of another mature adult? If his parents blame you for his behavior they are not being objective. You may never be able to break through this defense mechanism.
I think you have been given good advice here and on the other Forum.
Your comments to Frenchy are WAY out of line. -
