i first got this utube video showing a news report on a $1,200 device add-on to your vehicle.
basically, it injects a small quantity of hydrogen into your fuel intake port which reportedly increases your fuel efficiency -- some 60% and more.
the florida tv station set up its own testing of the device (hydro4000.com) on one of their vehicles and reported before and after economy results.

As a matter a fact, I tested three on a VW I owned. The tornado air cleaner adapter, the capacitor on the ignition wires, and various fuel additives. The capacitor toasted my bosche coil. The others made no changes to mileage or power.
What did make a difference in power and mileage are devices known to work as they are in place today. I converted the points ignition to an electronic ignition. I removed the v belt system and replaced it with a serpanteen belt system with aluminum pulleys.
We have at least something here that can be discussed within the context of the op's topic.

I'm not of "the" generation you describe.
I did try to sort out my religious interests during that period of time.
My overwhelming notion was, "Why are you kids playing this game".
For a short period of time I was in the "Ruling Elite", but I knew the "kids" were not in the same place as we 70ish recruits.

I didn't live there, I worked there. My perception of the "very wealthy" is that they were cool, but not interested. I had much better relationships with "the money folks" when I was plying my business than I ever did trying to peddle religion. I was "friends" with a man who drove a 1964 Pontiac station wagon and lived in a house build by Frank Lloyd Wright. Sin that it was, we never discussed religion, we just discussed business.
