Do you believe in magic? Experience it firsthand, and you'll be a believer.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. ini've never been one to believe in all of that hocus pocus crap, but i am now convinced.
seen it with my very own eyes.
there it was - a new thread started (heaven forbid that i should even mention the thread topic, much less the content) and then, in what would seem like no time at all - whoooof gone.

Organization Unnecessary?
by Sunspot inzion's watch tower, 1895, p. 216 says;.
"beware of 'organization.
' it is wholly un-necessary.

Hi Sunspot,
Well, if you're asking for thoughts....
IMPO man-made organizations are just that....man-made. In the letters of Paul, we can read there was a framework for worship put into place for the new Christan faith. Was this the way Christans would worship down through the centuries? Or, was it to show how to gather in an orderly way? Or, was Paul stating what he thought the new faith should worship like? I don't know, just more questions. LOL
But, seeing that the early church was to be infiltrated with false prophets also....I question if there was to be one true physical (corporeal) organization that God approves of. IMPO....the identifying factor is love. What type of person we are, amongst the world we live in. Love should be the motivating factor for our worship. Spiritual not physical. That to me is what the truth is. It's personal, not organizational. Just my opinion here.

Hi Sunspot,
The Org is NOT God---and God is not "represented" by the Org. Grow up! The WTS has fed this line to people for far too long. The WTS is being exposed as we speak! The 'net is showing untolled folks about what it is really all about. This international information highway at our fingertips. Long live the 'net!!!!
You want to talk about "real" Christianity-----so be it. Jesus is not just a puppet leading you to the Org for salvation. Jesus IS salvation. The WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE---and NO ONE will come to his Father---except through HIM----NOT a LYING organization of MEN "pretending" to BE him
I agree. Makes me think of the scripture...Matt. 24:4,5.

Hi Proplog,
The accusation that JW's are a money hungry organization doesn't harmonize with what they actually do. If they were primarily interested in money they would encourage American members to forget about their unproductive service (milliions of hours spent producing a 1/2 percent increase) and instead work overtime and contribute to the worldwide work where there is a significant increase.
They discourage their members from being successful in this world. If their members went to college and contributed to the organization they would have a lot more money. Their behavior indicates that money is not their primary purpose
Could it be that if Jw's actually had a good education, and were successful, the WTS would loose people by the masses? Knowledge is thier enemy.
C'mon they discourage higher education. It's not because of money.....it's because they would have few followers to contribute. Keep them barefoot and pregnant. Keep them dependent. IMPO.
6,000,000 Jw's. $1.00 a week from each is.......I'll let you do the math. (I'm just guessing at an average. I have no idea what they gross a week.)

The WT and Freedom to choose Evil
by jst2laws inthe wt and freedom to choose evil
augustine taught that evil did not really exits, only love, and that evil is the lack of love.
but the wt society does not agree.

When I read this thread, what came to my mind was...Proverbs chapter 8. Yeah, the whole chapter.
Are these scriptures talking about God or Jesus? When I read it, I think it is talking about wisdom. How God had to learn wisdom.
I guess my thought is.....If God had to learn wisdom where does evil come into play? Job 28:28....To depart from evil is understanding. Soooo, (and this is just a thought), yes God was (is) capable of evil. He had evil tendencies from the begining.Because, he also has the same free will. But, he learned through wisdom to control it. To master it. Does this make any sense? Am I waaayyyy out in left field here?

was I stupid or what?
by Ciara inyou know, something dawned on me a while back and as i'm reading all the posts tonight, i can't stop thinking about this.. all of you guys seem like you knew for quite a while before you left that the jw's were full of crap.
i had doubts and questions, but the reason that i left was that i just gave up.
i knew that i was never going to be able to live up to their expectations and i just got so depressed that i quit.

Hi Ciara,
I can certainly relate to your feelings. How bout this....I was never baptised a JW. Nope, I just took to heart that they had the truth and I was not worthy of God's approval. Over 20 years I beat myself up mentally because I couldn't adjust my life to the Orgs rules and regulations. How messed up is that?
I plain and simply felt the JWs were God's people. And, I was destined to die at Armageddon because I was dirt. I didn't even care, as long as God cleared his name. Instead of fighting to find the truth about the 'truth', I sucummed to their theologies. And, as a result, I lived in depression for many years. I started to come out of this way of thinking about a year ago. All I can say is when it happened it was like a flood of understanding. I don't read their literature anymore, or care about anything they have to say. (I'm talking about the society, not the individuals).
Anyway, I also felt like a fool. A bafoon for not taking my own interest in the Bible and, making my personal relationship with God just that. Personal. I feel like I'm actually getting my life back now. That I am allowed to control myself, trust in my own reading and understanding of the Bible, and God dosen't hate, or disaprove of me for doing so.
Duped. Violated. Mislead. Anger. Bitterness. Hopelessness. There are alot of feelings we each go through on the road to recovery. Hang in there. Time can heal alot of wounds. And, remember....You are not alone in your feelings. The WTS has the problems. Not you.

What's up with JWs only loving each other?
by new light inhow can it be called love when it is contingent on religious fervor?
i saw first hand today how some dubs only respect those of the faith, while dismissing others as scum.
their ridiculous, unnecessary preaching work is their only claim to being christ's followers.

IMPO the WTS cannot control JWs unless they isolate them. Hense, we are considered dogs...on the outside.
There is not any scripture to back up thier actions. We are to love our neighbor. Who is our neighbor? The whole world. How do the JWs explain they show the world love? By going door to door. Consider yourselves loved! LOL
