Put up a sign that says: NO JW's, and if they come anyway and your home then take a picture of them standing there then you can sue their Arses for standing on your porch.

Did you ever do "rooming" work before a convention?
by crazycate intruthseeker's topic on the recommended lodging list, and some of the experiences people have had, made me remember the rooming work we did before a convention that was held in our city many years ago.
we actually went door to door asking people if they had rooms they would be willing to let visiting witnesses stay in.
i don't remember anyone telling me, "yes," but i know there were people who signed up rooms.

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN !
by Simon inas i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/.
it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).

Simon, please make this new site so I can copy and past from MS Word, in this way I can make sure of my spelling and such.
Oh and I never did read the reason why you are closing up shop, is it for personal reasons?
Good luck with your new site. Shane,

The best thing to do is just tell them to get the &5#@ out of your life, why mess around with them, fear God not men.

How far away from their original beliefs are JW's?
by besty ini was struck by a quote in a very recent watchtower claiming that wts publications are now part of the bible.
quite a bold statement.. how about these two quotes beside each other:.
we would not refuse to treat one as a brother because he did not believe the society is the lord's channel.

Besty, it sounds like a Cult to me.
This is the way the Witness's should be:

Those here who disassociated- do you regret it?
by JimmyPage indoes anyone here who disassociated regret it?
do you wish you had just faded instead?
did disassociating give you a liberating feeling of power over your life?

Some people say "wrong doing" what the GB considers wrong doing" most of the time is just their stupid dogma, even if it may be some sort of immoral act that someone did it is to Jehovah that we stand or fall because it is through his son that we are forgiven and not through the GB or the elders of Jehovahs Witness's. When are the Witness rank and file going to wake up and realize this, hey stop drinking the cool aid.

CT Russell was not the only wacky pyramidologist
by Awakened at Gilead ini just finished reading a 1943 essay by bertrand russell (not related to crackpot ctr as far as i know, lol) where he discusses his cynical viewpoint of religious beliefs.
towards the end of his essay, he indicates that, instead of being disgusted by people who believe crazy implausibilities, he is actually somewhat amused, even entertained, by some of them, when their beliefs are generally harmless to the rest of the population.
after listing a few of these what he terms superstitions that "add to the gaity of life", he makes an interesting statement that jws should pay attention to:.
