Hang in there Celtic, we all have our own demons to contend with. A good rest does wonders. Just remember, your not alone. Have you seen a good comedy movie lately?

i don't think i'll be listened to any more, my story is not worth telling, it is too complex, it causes me too much sadness to try to relate it, too much shame and too much internal pain.
am i the only one that feels that they have given up trying to communicate their feelings here anymore?
like my personality is a sham, i do my best to cope, to be happy, to be this cantankerous old sod that tries to make out to everyone i'm doing well, but ..... anyone?

in was baptized in 1983 at the age of 18. by the end of 1984, i was beginning the fade thing.
for 5 years i was an "inactive" witness.
i can recall maybe one visit from an elder , though a few more from some "friends" that had missed me.
Nikita, it has surprised me to learn that we have different standards across the country. It doesn't make for a happy family. Then again, what kind of familiy are the JW's? Ah yes, dysfunctional.

most of the time there seems to be talk that essentially consists of whether this thought is better, is more logical or makes more sense - but what about the nature of it being just thought?
in one way this may seem obvious or boring so as to be easily dismissed, but for example when it comes to religious beliefs things can get really screwed up, even if you think your particular brand is better.
(however, this would not be limited to religion) it would be like someone who thinks everything on tv is real, and being disinterested in that fact in favor of being entertained by the various stories portrayed in all the shows.. consider the follow quote from thought as a system by david bohm.
My reality is reality. I've worked as a high steel worker for over forty years. My life depends on self-confidence to walk narrow beams many stories above street level. The 'only' belief I have when I walk across narrow beams is in myself. I can all the faith in my Creator but if I don't have faith in myself, I can't walk those beams.
Now if you want to translate reality and thought, we can, by saying, I believe I can walk narrow beams and by acting out my belief that's reality. Or are you saying, I have thoughts of walking across the beam but the reality is, I can't because of fear? OK, sort it out.

I never experienced any problems marrying outside the faith. If anything, they welcomed my mate.

how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.
the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!
they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".
Doctors can be wrong, right? Here's saying, hang in there and continue feeding us your thoughts and emotions. I live in a community where news of this nature is common.
Take care and my best to the family.

a few recent threads have been about faking hours in field service reports (for example, this one: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/72429/1.ashx).
a number of posters said they would never actually go in service, but still magically get in their hours each month.
my question to you ex-elders: did you ever confront someone on this?
Nope. When it comes to golf tournaments, you better be on your toes. Competitive golfers who cheat, cheat themselves, the field, and me. With field service hours, who did you cheat?

one soldier?s viewpoint of iraq.
greetings (names withheld).
as i head off to baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in iraq, i wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media.
Dubla, can I interest you to read, 'The Creature from Jekyl Island?' G.Edward Griffin.
About 'conspiracies' he says on page 130, "A moment's reflection on these events leads us to a crossroads of conscience. We must choose between two paths. Either we conclude that Americans have lost control over their government, or we reject this information as a mere distortion of history. In the first case, we become advocates of the conspiratorial view of history. In the latter, we endorse the accidental view. It is difficult choice because we have been conditioned to laugh at conspiracy theories, and a few people will risk public ridicule by advocating them. On the other hand, to endorse the accicental view is absurd. Almost all of history is an unbroken trail of one conspiracy after another. Conspiracies are the norm, no the exception."

And my cat isn't really a 'pussy.'

I'm proud to say 'none.' If anything, I'm owed hours. Whether I was in the ministry or work for 'anyone' I put my time in, period.
