More thoughts on Satan the Devil

the other day, we were discussing whether satan is a real person (fallen angel) or just the personification of evil.

i was trying to see people's thoughts on this topic because many christians i know claim satan is not real.

even clergy today teach this.

He better be real otherwise I am living a delusional life! As I stated before, I don't care what people believe in, I'm entitled to my beliefs. To try and discredit my beliefs tantamounts to one ACTING as my guidance counselor, bull!

We have free will in that we decide what's in our best interest. I will side with the belief that there's a Creator and he knows what he's doing even though to us imperfect creatures he doesn't. The earth and mankind has been on earth for thousands of years, what do we have, 70-100 years? How many people have come and gone not believing in a Creator or the devil? How many more will go?

The devil is as real as the wind that we can feel and not see!

i was looking up my old hard copies that i printed out through the years from jwd, and came across this powerful post by "outaservice".. it is an open letter written by a "gaila noble" from arizona.

it was posted on january 30, 2002 by outaservice, and he gave me permission to copy/paste it into a new thread, for the benefit of all the newbies and others who have never seen it.

This is an AWESOME letter! I did not detect a bitter person but a person that was let down by an organization who made promises and could not back it up. For her trust and devotion to this organization her children were stolen from her. How sad, how sad.

consider the scene: jesus has just been baptized and immediately leaves for an extended stay in the wilderness all on his lonesome.

now ... already this is something the governing body would discourage any jw from doing, but i digress.. along comes satan.

jesus knows it is satan, because of how satany he is.
