The really secret stuff is not put into print but disseminated by Circuit Overseers directly to the Presiding Overseers although the letters to the Bodies of Elders etc are handy and sometimes extremely revealing.

Ray Franz and September, 11
by SANDMAN inhey folks,.
i just read a letter from a friend in brazil where he express his happiness about the translation to portuguese of his book "in search for christian freedom" that is coming.
i would like to share some thoughts of ray franz about the terrorist attacks in 11/09:.

Ray correctly said that when millions die (as in the Sudan where the Muslim fundamentalist government butchers Christians), so long as overseas, most in the USA have paid it relatively little attention - which is sad but true.

Should I be doing more?
by WTLies inmy story is posted in the "personal experiences" section of this discussion board and someone responded with and interesting observation.
he said that it's great that i'm now out but that i have 'dues to pay' to those whom i have disfellowshipped and talked out of going to college while serving as an elder.
while serving as an elder i did share in disfellowshipping several members of the congregation, many of whom are still out there being shunned by family and friends.

Even after "new light" said college is okay Circuit Overseers went around giving talks saying it isn't. The WTS's idea was to not appear quite as anti-education so that they could be accepted as a non-cult eligible for tax breaks etc in Germany and other countries and also scoop up some computer-smart people, but that in reality for most of the rank-and-file it would continue to be undesirable for youth to go to college but rather they should be full-time door-to-door ministers (pioneers).
So William is telling it like it is. He was just doing as CO's over him said to do. It harmed those he was compelled to so counsel as well as his own life.
Could you do more? Yes, we could all do more. Continue prayerful and keep your eyes open and what those other avenues are will come to you. Asking us is a good start. Jah's Spirit is where there is the love of two or more fellow Christians. I recommend the Free Christians Newsletter available from [email protected] for an excellent source of ministry ideas to help our beloved still enslaved JW families and friends.

UN PO Spin
by messenger ini spoke to a friend this morning who is a sister.
she asked her po last night about the un issue.
his first response was where did you get your information?

W.L. ("Lloyd") Barry of the correct WTBTS signed the UN NGO application, and he was when alive (now deceased) a member of the Governing Body. The Presiding Overseer is therefore lying or has himself been lied to. This UN-WTBTS association matter has also been in the United Kingdom's prestigious GUARDIAN newspaper. The WTBTS has just now quit the UN affiliation but only because it was caught affiliated even while verbally denouncing the UN. Maybe Dateline NBC could work in an account of this deception when they also expose the WTBTS's coverups of child molestation (silentlambs.org)

Watchtower Air
by Kent inon june 12, 1995, at 1530 alaska daylight time, a wheel equipped cessna 402b airplane, n710ws, registered to and operated by the watchtower bible organization and tract society, collapsed its nose gear while taxiing back after landing.
the business flight, operating under 14 cfr part 91, departed good news, alaska, and the destination was tuntutuliak, alaska.
no flight plan was filed and visual meteorological conditions prevailed.

And maybe the pilot had been drinking too much. I wonder how many airplanes the WTBTS owns? They own lots of things. Even a Watcthower Security Systems company around San Diego. Someone should find out if the devices they sell include infinity mikes and FM noise/sound transmitters.

First Reaction To My UN letters
by Ranchette inmy husband called his cousin this morning and the first thing the cousin said to my husband was something like, are you aware that your wife sent us some information that was very disturbing to us?.
my husband let him know that he did not know i was sending out those letters but he had since done research on the info and found that i was correct.. the cousin asked my husband if he was aware that i could be in trouble for a letter like that.
my husband informed him again that i was telling the truth and he had called the un himself to verify.. the cousin said he would call the society to see if this is true but.

Just leaving? come to the convention.
by borgfree ini will start by saying, i am not a part of the ministry sponsoring the convention and i have nothing to gain (materially) by promoting the convention.. when i left the organization, i did not know what i would do, i would not go to 'babylon the great' so i planned to just live my life as best i could.
someone invited me to the 'witnesses now for jesus' convention, i said i would not go, but changed my mind at the last moment and went anyway.
going to that convention changed my life forever.

No belief changes will be announced but some reorganizing and economic moves, maybe a film or other moves to try to counter the reproach the "Wait On Jehovah" policy of hiding child molestation and other wrongs is causing. For something to do come visit our ex-JWs and Friends Christian Freedom website called jahchristian which is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jahchristian

Whats your thoughts on sex & the WTS
by Leander inhopefully this topic won't shock anyone, i'll try to keep my comments as tasteful as possible.
just recently (last weekend) my younger brother met with the elders because he was engaged in fornication.
the elders decided to disfellowship him even though he had long stopped having any contact with the person he had been involved with.

Regarding sex and the Watchtower Society: Leo Greenlees was a child molester whom fellow Governing Body members over JWs reassigned but never disfellowshipped (excommunicated/shunned) in the 1980s, and into Aug 2001 child abuse by Watchtower Society (WTS) associates was still officially covered up, causing costly destructive court costs and reproach including articles in Christianity Today and investigations by Dateline NBC. For copies of letters to the Bodies Of Elders regular members aren't shown including on child abuse see: www.silentlambs.org, freeminds.org, observer.org.
Some members have reported elders resorting to physical harassment (poking, shoving etc), hinting "Jehovah’s eyes are everywhere" and giving details of the members’ most private conversations and bedroom doings with their own marriage mates. WTS heads put out articles saying for elders not to “police” the bedrooms in 1978 but later in a talk (but not in writing) in 1983 told regular members "The Practice" of some marital intimacies can lead to Expulsion. (discussed on Jehovahs-Witness.com) So regular JWs absent that evening have been "expelled" (harassed/trained) without clearly aware why. Contrast this to the pedophilia coverups.
The "Insight" books by the WTS have articles on all Bible books except the Song of Solomon (also called Canticles) which has much positive marital imagery out of line with the Gov Body’s views of what is “holy.” Instructed to keep such things "in-house" when asked most elders deny the 1983-onwards policy in order to protect the Governing Body. JW and voting in index?
by mindfield inwhile checking out a questions from readers which was supposed to contain radically different viewpoints on voting in the 1999 index, i got an unpleasant surprise... it's not there!!!
in the summary of the watchtower, a questions from readers is mentioned, but the article itself is nowhere to be found!
i must note however, this was a french index... is it the same with the english ones?

Circuit Overseers were told to tell JWs in the U.S. that the permission to vote only applied in some other nations. For example in S Africa it is law that all citizens have the right to go and vote. If the Watchtower Society had denied that right it would have had to pay taxes and become subject to other possible penalties. Even at that JWs who do vote may still be covertly, “unofficially” subjected to sanctions, and any doing so in the U.S. would be disfellowshipped or "expelled" meaning harassed/retrained. In short, the WTS is deceptive.
