What is that sound at the end? The cat meowing, a baby crying or something being squashed on the road. Can't believe this is not a joke... another one for the archives for sure...Will have to file this one under "bizarroo".

Hey! Did you ever wonder how to use a piece of plastic to cover the mags?
by joenobody inhere's a truly weird flash animation demo of "how to use magazine covers".
this is waaaay too bizarre... if anyone is good with shockwave or flash they should do a parody (although the self-parodying nature of this is too much!)..

Those true life stories in the mags
by trumangirl inthose life stories of bros and sis's in the awakes and wts were always very inspirational and encouraging to me when i was in the borg.
everyone enjoyed reading them.
now i realise that these experiences would have been censored and edited for maximum affect on the readers.

A family in our congo was pictured in the mag as being some of those fine examples of long line of faithful witnesses. They were all standing there smiling and supposedly joyous, but I knew them well enough to know of the maritial problems, their troubled children, the mental insanity and judgemental atttitudes. It bothered me that they were being used as a fine example to us all--I knew they weren't all they were made out to be--their story in many ways was a fabrication.

Proplog I think that what is bothering me here is the feelingless way your information is presented. For those here who have been ripped off by the WT Org this is not a logical vs illogical argument, but a highly charged emotional one. We are only human and many here are experiencing a lot of pain because the practices of this Organization.

Personal Relationship with Jehovah?????

welcome Nessy,
A personal relationship with Jehovah according to the WT is someone who dedicates all their time and energy to working for the WT. I never made that grade. I thought of God in the way I always did--someone who was loving and caring towards all of humankind. I finally had to admit that the WT God and the God I thought I was worshipping were 2 different beings. Now I am confused as to the nature of God.

About prayer...
I remember hearing from the platform that if we fall asleep during our bedtime prayer it is showing a great disrespect for Jehovah. I thought that it was nonsense at the time, but that thought was planted in me and it put me on guard a bit when I was tired and praying.

**The WTS did not print that they thanked the parents for giving them the money from their dead son's chickens, nor did they offer condolences for his tragic death.
Sunspot--my thoughts exactly...

We are only human and many here are experiencing a lot of pain because the practices of this Organization. The WT Organzation is not human. They lack in fellow feelings and compassion. There are some in the Organization who try to be human and those will be the ones who are hurt the most--I pity them all. I am sorry I was ever involved in this abusive cult anti-human Organization.

The WT tried to kill my family. Then they tried to kill me. They killed my sisters 2 son's and have killed countless of other individuals and their families. This was done by their disfellowshipping, shunning of the weak, shunning of those not working for their organzation (AKA worldy ones.)
Wow, sometimes I wonder about this cyber-sista person. She seems to be getting more radical as time goes on. But she kind of makes sense to me too.

I think that the wt (watchtower) programming makes people suppress their real selves and create fake identities. Maybe the person w whom you were solving the worlds problems w, who was basically studying the bible w you was a wt cutout. The wt actually has a teaching about building a new personality, a new person after christ, well, the wt christ, who lives in patterson new york. We are damaged goods
The WT recognizes this double personality and refers to it as "living a double life." Most JWs do this to one degree or another. I knew several witnesses with severe emotional problems--many of whom were living double lives. A couple of JWs I knew had been diagnosed with multiple personalities. I think this too may be all too common with the double-speak double-think teachings of the JW religion.

Rage, the WTS and JWD - a year's journey
by talesin init was a year ago this past week that i joined jwd.
being here has helped me with one issue in particular.
i would like exchange feelings/experiences with you about this, as i feel that it could be key for many of us.. i left the jws in 1977, was df in 1979. since then, and up until joining jwd, i had no knowledge of the machinations of the society.. some of the things i learned about here are, the flip flop on organ transplants, the un scandal and the 'two witness' rule being applied to paedophiles.

You are several months ahead of me. I am still at the majorly pissed off at the Org processing stage, but do hope to get to a better place one day. I always enjoy your posts and I am so glad that you landed here too.

REMEMBER! CHARITY AND KINDNESS LITERALLY DO NOT COUNT IN the organization. There is no place
for such activity on any field service report.
I remember a sister who was quite ill herself and then caring for her elderly mother who was dying. She lamented the fact to me that she wished she could turn in the hours to the society that she spent caring for her elderly mother, because she had no energy left to go door to door and her hours were very low and she was feeling really guilty on top of feeling burdened by her situation. The mother eventually died and the woman had a nervous breakdown. She was in the mental institution for a while and then she died too--mysteriously (I always suspected suicide). I know this story is a bit of a downer, but it is another one of those from the WT ORG "aren't we ever so joyfully serving Jehovah" Spiritual paradise files.
