Fun With The Watchtower. The Sisters Are Cows.

norm hovland very kindly gave me a cd with around 50 years watchtowers as a part of it.. cheers, norm!

i'm having great fun looking up stuff from the 60's and 70's that i recall causing me some astonishment at the time, even though i was still an active dubbie when they were published.

actually it was more than astonishment.

Oh my God Englishman,

I really thought this was some mock WT article you had created in your genius mind. But on the off chance I dusted off my WT CD and looked it up. IT'S REAL! I don't usually laugh about the WT, but this one was the clencher and moved me to near hysterical laughter. The Org is not only evil it is riduculous. What insanity! During my exiting process from the Org the brothers were always presenting me with articles from old WTs and it did make me wonder why "old light" was being used on me as quotes from a law book. I wrote a letter to the society about the problems with the elders here and they wrote me back a letter with quotes in it from WTs some in the 1960s. Was I supposed to take this garbage as the word of God when it stands next to articles of this sort?

Thank you for opening my eyes a bit wider this morning.

The JW's release new brochure...."Keep On The Watch!"

on getting back from the dallas apostafest i was able to see the new release from saturday's convention program that my mother attended.

it's a 32 page brochure entitled, "keep on the watch!

" with the subtitle, "for what?

Uriah--great writing--kept me entertained all the way through. People not familiar with the JW mindset would read this and think it was ever so bizarro, but even more bizarre is that I totally understand every word of it--it is all so strange, but oh so true--oh so true.

Hey Blobby,

This site has helped me to exit the Org--without it I would still be struggling with many issues. Exiting the Org is a process--some of us have been in it for years and we it takes awhile to purge it out of our systems and the whole ordeal can be painful and disorientating. Most of the people here understand the pain of the process and are in different stages of their transistion, which is good because we need help on many different levels. Some here are still lonely because they have lost a lot of family and friends. I was in 20 years and have only 1 friend left in the Org who addresses me as a human being, but I know that if she stays in there even she will eventually cut me off. So fellow feelings truly do exist here, despite the fact that we are all out here floating around in cyber-space. Don't know how long I will be here, but it may be a while. Hope I can be supportive of others in the same way they have been supportive of me.

the public is invited to attend any of these three-day events, which will feature free bible-based presentations under the theme "walk with god.

My Brother Begged Me To Come Back To Jehovah & His Organization!!!

i recieved a 7 page "note" from my brother and his wife pleading with me to come back to jehovah god and his organization.

he said the devil was after me and my family and that the results will be disastrous unless i come back to "jehovah's protective custody".

also, it was strongly implied that unless my family went back to meetings and went out in field service, most jws, including family members would not attend my daughter's wedding and reception.my wife, daughter and i have been overtaken by the devil, according to him.

Since I am newly exited I have received a few of these notes and a phone call from one sister crying to me not to leave the Org since so many of her friends have left and she couldn't take it if I left too. (Maybe this should give her some sort of clue). Anyway, that one was esp. hard to handle as she was truly distraught and is already on the edge of a breakdown and I didn't want to be the one to push her over the edge, because I truly do care about her as a human being.. Anyway, I usually feel very spacey after these little encounters, so I come to this site and purge it out. Glad you are all here for support. hang in there...We hear you Minimus...

Suspicions About 'Rich' Witnesses

recently, i visited an area known for its 'healthy' congregations.

i spoke with an experienced elder about conditions.

he spoke glowingly about pioneers and not having enough kingdom halls.

Danny, my heart always goes out to you...Sad to say, but it is all so true...all so true... I have seen bits and pieces of your life in the lives of so many in the Org. What an evil empire that drains people dry and then leaves them old and poor and bleeding and broken. Glad you are here to spell this out loud and clear to anyone who is having doubts about the WT Org.--please find some comfort in knowing this...

What's up with JWs only loving each other?

how can it be called love when it is contingent on religious fervor?

i saw first hand today how some dubs only respect those of the faith, while dismissing others as scum.

their ridiculous, unnecessary preaching work is their only claim to being christ's followers.

Not all witnesses are the same and many do love those on the outside (though undeniably the religion teaches them not too). I am married to a great guy who is not a JW and never was and our daughter never become JW either, though we continued to have a loving family together.. This is the straw that broke me to have my loving family attached in this way. Not all elders or other witnesses would make such blatant statements as this and some would express a bit more sensitivity, but not all and these are the ones who cause so much pain to the JW collective. Be patient with you wife--hopefully she will see through it one day--I did. I loved my non-JW family and have a better relationship with them than most faithful JWs, and while me being one of JWs was hard on my family in some ways our love carried us through to the end.

So glad I'm not there...so glad I'm not there. Remember when you got back from the assembly and the first Thursday night meeting when everyone would be saying wasn't that a wonderful assembly and the elder on the platform would say wasn't that a wonderful assembly and we would all dutifully smile and clap and then we he would talk about the new release and then remind us to read it (duh) and then point out the highlights in it by reading the chapter titles (duh) and then say something like how it is a blessing that the Faithful and discreet slave gives us such timely spiritual food and that it is just what we need in this time of the end and I for one would glaze over shut down and deny my absolute boredom and frustration with the mindless drivel but then figure I just needed to study more and pray and go out in service more so I could appreciate the mindless drivel the way all these other people were appreciating the mindless drivel and I know this is a major run on sentence, but that was life as a JW just one big boring run on sentence.

i was watching a message in the official web site of the wt, and it's something like a video for television about a little boy who could not sleep because he was afraid.

he was painting two buildings and an aeroplane destroying them, i think like the september 11, 2001. the question is how many childrens can't sleep right now thinking on armaggedon as the ww (watchtower's witnesses) teach.

blondie that was a barf-a-roonie video clip. Such a lie--such a lie. I had a happy family the and Org leaders tried to wreck it and traumatized us all. Did you notice how hypnotic the voice on the video was? Sounds a lot like one of the mormon ads.

If a fleshly father has an unconditional love and support for his children and God is supposed to be so incredibly MORE forgiving and loving beyond a man's comprehension what RIGHT do people in some religion have in judging someone as to take away their support and appreciation for them? That's right-- they SHOULDN'T. Like I said, however-- their minds have been conditioned to do so and I just have to remember that every so often so I am not consumed with resentment towards every one of them. You better believe I cannot stand organized religion now, though.

I think that you have to differenciate between different types of jw, as they are not all alike. some of them are goodhearted, loving and caring not only to jw but to all people as they obey biblical laws more than wts principles. but many on the other hand are more self-righteous and think of jw as some kind of an elite group. these are the fake people always smiling, always commenting in the meetings, always giving you some spiritually "uplifting" advises, abusing their children, gossipping etc. - these are the ones that are the white washed graves that gave me the creeps when i was still a jw.
