  Sexual Chemistry and abstinence before marriage

  have you ever "been with" someone only to discover that there was absolutely no sexual chemistry... no matter what either of you did, it was just not satisfying?.

  i've had that happen with a woman before and it made me start wondering... how often does this happen to people who get married after being abstinent?

  how does this affect the marriage?

  My Uncle's Eulogy

  i gave the eulogy for my uncle's funeral yesterday, and since i'm no longer a jdub i kept the discourse neutral re: religion and the afterlife.

  my uncle didn't believe in a heaven or hell, and i knew that during the concluding song & pray, given by his friends, that would cover that subject.

  i spoke about what he was as a person, what he believed in, what we will miss about him, and what he would want the survives to do.

  I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle.

  You should be proud that you spoke of him, his life and accomplishments. So many JW's tend to act as if it isn't even about the passing of someone they love but rather an opportunity to witness.

  How do they know?

  this kind of goes along with all of the posts recently about the memorial.

  when my mother explained the annointed to me when i was young i asked how someone would know if they were part of the annointed.

  she told me, "they just know.

  How? How supposedly do "they just know"? That has never made sense to me.

  PHYSICAL FOOD AT THE PROPER TIME

  has anyone here tried the atkins diet or something like it?

  i was looking at some info that a co-worker sent me about being overweight.

  i desperately need to lose a lot of weight, but i'm starving all the time and have packed on the 30 lbs.

  Before you make a decision, I would weigh all of your options. Maybe research the Atkins diet or other low-carb diets a little bit more before jumping to the conclusion that it is unhealthy. Here is a website that my husband and I found very interesting. You can find out all you need to know on the message board and talk to people who have tried it.

  My husband and I had good results with it when we tried it. There are several myths. One is that you lose the weight rapidly which can cause health problems. You only lose the weight very rapidly during induction. After that weight loss averages 1 - 2 lbs. per week ( a healthy weight loss rate).

  Another myth is that it is a "steak & eggs" diet. It isn't. You can have plenty of veggies and fruit is limited as long as they are the lower sugar fruits (ones that don't cause serious jumps in your insulin levels).

  I'm telling ya the conservatives are sending this country to hell in a handbasket.

  Conservatives, eh? Oh, you mean the same conservatives who are opposed to unnecessary displays of governmental power such as this?

  Someone will take this to the Supreme Court and hopefully, they'll get it right.

  That would be the same Supreme Court that upholds every other case that further helps to "send this country to hell in a handbasket." Sounds like you have it all figured out!

  I have had sort of an opposite experience. I have faded away but eventually the brothers and sisters stopped contacting me. My mother is still very much "in" and will never leave me alone. I'm guessing maybe they decided since she is family they would leave it up to her to bring me back. Either way they finally left me alone. Now I've moved and further insured that they will continue to leave me alone. Now only one person to deal with and even though she is a tough one, I'm surviving.

  i have a friend who had her mother pass away this week.

  the horrible thing is that her father passed away a couple weeks prior to her mother and her aunt also passed away last month.

  i feel horrible for her.

  Thanks, everyone. I hate feeling so bad for someone but feeling helpless. There isn't anyway to fix it but I will do my best to help her through it.......
