  When we die....

  so what really happens to us when we die?

  i know this is probably something most people have some sort of opinion on but i just have no idea.

  i've had paradise ingrained in me and now that i'm putting that possibility aside i'm curious.

  Do other religons do this?

  are there other religons that practice disfellowshipping type tactics?

  when i tried to explain my situation to my husband's family they mentioned that it was like excommunication or shunning.

  i just wondered if this is a common practice at other religons and what type of sin would call for such punishment.

  How would you find someone?

  i had a friend that left the organization and moved to the dfw area.

  back then i was still "in" so unfortunately i lost touch with her.

  now, i want to be able to find her.

  the witnesses portray jesus and all of the diciples with short hair...."the world" portrays them with long.

  is this just a ploy to back their viewpoints on being clean cut and clean shaven?.

  Loss of Family

  i am just wondering if any of you have lost family members that you were really close to by leaving "the organization"?

  how did you deal with it?.

  right now i am neither disfellowshipped nor disassociated but considered inactive.

  Achieving Salvation

  the other night, i had a couple of pastors over to try to answer some questions i had.

  they came prepared to "save me" and even tried to do so.

  tonight i bought a book that mentioned being saved by accepting the work of christ and asking jesus to save me.

  My Demonized Dog....

  what is the most off the wall thing you've heard from a jw?.

  here is mine..... a month ago my dad (disassociated) gave me a dog named lucky.

  trying to get lucky used to his new home and new people we put him in a kennel when we would leave.

  JW &Your Health

  well, i guess this will be my first official question for all of you.....does the stress of the jw religon stemming from a background in it affect anyones health?.

  this may seems silly but just thinking about it and other religious options stresses me out.

  right now, just from thinking about this for an hour or so, i have a huge headache and am very tense and a little bit shaky.
