Smoking weed is much better than drinking. The effects go away much quicker than when drinking, plus I never saw a violent smoker.

by Pepper inmy kids have sense we all quit, i never thought they would, i tried so hard to show them they don't need to but shit happen's.
i have also noticed tht a lot of the disfellowshiped ones not all but a lot, have started smoking weed, and seem very easy with the idea, anyone else?

I got to meet many cool people, while I learned from thier stories that I wasnt crazy. I also got to see that many ex's have issues that go beyond being JW's, that they would have been miserable in life period, JW or not.

XMas illuminations on your house
by Simon ini guess this is more of a usa thing, but in the spirit of international friendship we have decided to put some effort into things this year.
he he ... this house is round the corner from angharad's parents and he raises money for charity.

This is our first xmas in Arizona.... as a family. My wife loves to light up the house, to me it is extra labor. Since I am working out of state, I got out of the labor again this year. My son did it for her, and when I got home from the airport last week, I was shocked.
We have those little icicle lights across the front, which is nice.... but what they did to the entrance gate door was wild. 4 strings of the big bulbs were attached to the door... bright as hell... and when you walk up to it, it throws off a load of heat!
I said "Nice job" and left it at that. I will have to add a few more hours of overtime to pay the electric bill this month....

about my family here on this board
by ugg ini have worked all night doing freight at kmart...you would think i would be tired by now,,,but i can not relax.... so i am going to ramble on some about this site...hahahahahahahahahahaha.
it is absolutely precious!!!!!!!!!.
i am naive and inexperienced so i have learned so much about people.... i just laugh my heart out when i see different ones fighting (big time).

In my world, the trick to being me is to be able to listen to a person without being judgemental. I think that human nature pushes us to judge, but I fight that. If everyone has the freedom to vocalize an opinion without the fear of being labeled stupid, etc, life is good. Too many cannot or will not agree or accept my opinion, which is their problem, not mine.... nor yours. Be you, and enjoy it.
Those of us beyond the issues of the JW'isms welcome you as a "little sis". Now, go clean my room.

by freedom96 inthere have been many postings regarding the possible war with iraq.
there are many strong apposing views, as to be expected.. i personally am going to thank all those who are in the military; my hat is off to you, and i respect what you do, and i am very thankful.
you are the ones that must go out there and defend our freedoms.. i don't think most people desire war, but sometimes there seems to be little choice.

Hey UGG.. email me anytime, my email is open (altho I am only home to answer it on weekends).
With me, I cant think of one persons doing something nice, but I know that many people did. When I was a runaway and needed places to stay or food to eat, some people held out a hand and helped without me even asking. It kept me alive, I think, and safe.
I do beleive that "what goes around comes around". Now, with a home and kids of my own, we have a 17 yr old living in our house that would otherwise be stuck in a bad situation. My son asked if his buddy could stay "a few weeks" back in May, till school was out. Well, here it is December and he is still here. I am not complaining at all, he turned out to thrive around us and loves it here. And we like him. He has way worse family issues than most people I know, and my only responsibility in this whole deal is to keep him safe.
Having him here reminded me of the many families I lived with, and how grateful I was to them.

I am not sure I would want to change a thing.... my entire life was filled with experiences which made me what I am today. Now, others in my life may have different ideas about that, but I am comfy with it.
