IMPORTANT IDEA! Petition the Society and embaress them for their hubris

i may have an important idea!

(beginner's luck).. what if we all (and i mean every last one of us; big numbers of people) wrote a scathing and precise petition or letter of protest (as an open letter) to the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and released it to the press on a slow news day with lots of fanfare?.

we would "call out" the rascals in no uncertain terms citing our grievances (like the founding fathers to george iii) and enumerating our personal suffering under the policies we want changed.. the list would include setting themselves up as little dictators speaking in god's name and issuing papal decrees upon penalty of excommunication.. we could demand apologies for stealing the future of children born to jw families who lose the happiness of childhood through worthless pharisaic adherence to blind rules such as no birthdays, christmas, easter, holidays in general, etc.

How come places where the government or church is actively fighting the jws they print all kinds of stuff in main stream media against the jws. Yet JWs grow. I cant see the advantage. THe wts either secretly bowed down to those governments and did not tell jws elsewhere or launched their own propaganda mill.

I say the best way is to recruit JW infiltrators. Drs lawyers critiques etc from other faiths. Train them how to be JWs and just take jws over. THe religion is straving right now in develope lands. Ofcoarse most people dont treat religions like corporate take overs except Rutherford and that worked!

What Questions From Readers Doesn't Tell You

the sept. 1 watchtower has a question from readers concerning the 144,000. it asks how we know if the number 144,000. is a literal number.

it then quotes from a scholar, robert thomas, who wrote an exegetical commentary on revelation.. he says that , in revelation 7, the contrast of a definite number ( 144,000) with an indefinite number ( the "great crowd").

proves that the 144,000 is a literal number.. .

What I never have understood about that arguement is since 99% of JWs are not 144k then why whould it matter. SInce the GB does not sit on the board and everything is ran by the non anointed. I mean anycatch what i am saying?

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses contemplate suicide?

a problem common among jehovah's witnesses is the feeling that they are not going to make it to live past armageddon.

even though they keep a rigorous schedule of activities designed to earn them a righteous standing with jehovah, the witnesses themselves are keenly aware that they fall far short of the perfect standard set by god.. why do so many jehovah's witnesses consider suicide at one time or another?

I think because the religion has a better view of death.

Most religions in the after life sucide is punished. When you reward or tolerate suicidesuch as in Japanese culture or islam suicide rates increase. JWs believe that you ether stop existing and become like you are sleep or you are rewarded in paradise. Depression causes a longing for sleep. The reason JWs can commit sucide is because death will actualy benefit them. Providing the person believes in the JW death system. Many JW sucide letters and tapes explain this to their families or elders.

i resisted it for years.

i was dragged kicking and screaming into the evolution theory camp.. i would rather have had my arm lopped off at the elbow;but, facts are facts.

i had to be intellectually honest.

That's a logical fallacy. Something is not true simply because it cannot be disproved.

I know that. I was just talking in general. I never said it was true.

The problem is defining natural unintellegent processess. The universe is interactive. The difference between creation and evolution is cause. In general creation God caused it in evolution nature caused it. What if god is a dumb process or what if nature is intellegent?

People ponder if there is such a thing as a god, but few question is there such a thing as nature. There could be no God, but evolution could be false. Life on earth could have been created.

Maybe I am missing the point of the evolution theory. What does it do again? I mean I know what evolution is, but maybe my unorthodox veiw is I can't see the point because the theory of evolution has no tangible impact on science out side of the bone filing sciences and epidemiology(maybe). Because we live in the present what ever is alive now is what matters. Unless you are dealing with a fast replicator then the theory of evolution sits on a self until you need to file something and that is only from tradition. You can't predict anything with evolution alone. I may be totaly inept right now so dont castrate me i am confused. Help me understand.

JWs and 9/11

i couldn't find anything using search, so maybe somebody just needs to point me in the right direction.

but i don't remember any discussion about what jws thought was happening when planes started flying into buildings and the hysteria in the nation began to build.

i do know about the reaction of the watchtower, locking their doors against people in need.

I heard the JWs in NY closed the doors cuz of the dust, smoke, and choas.

And most did not think it was the tribulation. They assumed it was just past of living in "the last days". Some JWs here were on those planes on the return flight to LAX.

i had a disagreement with xq in chat today, because he was trying to say that jws for the most part disobey the wts and still treat family like family even if they are dfd or quit being witnesses.. i don't feel that is true.

i think that the majority of us on here who no longer are jws have family members who no longer have anything to do with us and shun us.... so i said it would be interesting to take a poll and see how many here are treated just like all the rest of your 'loving family' who is a jw still.......are you treated the same?.

does family shun you for being df'd, da'd or no longer participating?or do they hide and talk to you but only when other active jws can't see?

lol my point... Duh my bad got carried away.

There are two camps of JWs. Those that believe if you are a family member as long as they dont give you credibility it is okay to associate with you, and the other guys. I believe the other guys may be loosing.

Unless the family is having problems shunning is loosing its relief. It is not getting the results the watchtower used to promise. The JWs are in troubled waters. It is like being a communist in the late 80s no fun at all. They seem to be clinging to their families or jettsioning them and going it alone. Saddly the jettisoning is happening inside with jws in good standing. I was just trying to say I think the other guys can be won over. Moscow is a great example. Can you challenge them to prove JWism does not break up families? Not by words but by action. THey will love to prove the russian wrong right?

DOnt you see it it is a classic watchtower legal bait and switch. Just like fractions.

JW abstain from blood. BLood is sacred. Blood should be poured out. Those who take blood are endagering their relation ship with jehovah. JWs can have all fractions made from blood.

Disfellowshiped people are mocking God. Disfellowshiped people will endagering your relation ship with jehovah. Disfellowshiped people are unrepentant. Disfellowshiped people we must quite mixing with them. Disfellowshiped people they are to be cut off. Disfellowshiped imediate family members and those living in the house hold can enyjoy natural family affection and dealings.

SP that qoute I posted was the one from 1988 ap 15. It is newer than the 1981 article. It is used to show the watchtower does not shun family. I assume it is for court battles because it is rearly quoted. It is a softer article.

It said and not or. They have to be outside the house and the immediate family. If it said "or" you would be correct. Friends are not coverd but this thread is about family. The sentance was reprinted in a september 2002 km. So it is still good wahoo! Dont you get it guys? Why dont you care? I mean if i was being shunned I would be waving this like a battle flag. Sorry if i am over reacting. No offense.

How? By avoiding deliberately and keeping away from.

It said normal family affections and dealings I can't figure out how to avoid them and deal with them.

like tough love.

I know many say tough love. but that means you shunned them before they were out and yes I know JWs do that too.
