If I was in a room where a toy roared because you asked it to, I wouldn't hang around to ask anymore questions. Why did they decide to ask it to roar anyways? Do you really think most of the things on that show are for real? or just entertainment. I have never watched that show, so I can't really comment.

That was funny! I really needed a laugh today. Good thing your goal isn't to convert dubs to your thinking because I would think the majority have their one track line of reasoning and just wouldn't get it. Doesn't hurt to try though. I look forward to reading more.

Did You Know or Know Of "Gay" or Bisexual JWs???
by minimus inrecently, a former witness expressed his opinion to me that he knew more than a few witnesses that were gay.personally, i know of a bisexual ex-elder who was unhappily married for a few years.
now he's "out", pardon the pun, of the organization.
i know of a newly appointed ms who is married to a sister but most people suspect he is gay.

We found out a brother was gay when at our wedding a single brother and a married sister had too much to drink and ended up in bed at his house. Turns out she never had sex with her husband and after all the scandal of their sexual encounter was known about the congregation, her husband came out and admitted he was actually gay. That was the scandal of the year in our congregation.

Anyone Else from Canada?
by Miss 8572 ini'm really intrigued by that fact that i may know some of you and yet not know that i know you.
i just want to know how many people from canada are here.
if you don't mind and don't care about posting your province (cause i'm too timid to) we could all get an idea of just how many canucks are really out there.

Sympathy Alert! Sympathy Alert!
by HadEnuf inour poor little brookie (whyamihere) got her poor little finger slammed in the door by my adorable grandson tonight (accidently of course).
she had to go to the hospital and get big needles stuck in her finger to releave the pressure and is now enjoying the benefits of pain medication.
i'm sure she could use some well wishes as fingers are very important and so is my lovely brookie (whyamihere).

oh.. that looks so painful.!!! The last time I had my finger slammed in a car door was when I was a teenaged dub. We were out in fieldservice at the time. The elder and his wife who were driving us didn't even care. They just walked off to start their lame field service. funny, I forgot all about that untill now.Hope your finger feels better soon. at least you don't have to go door to door with a swollen throbbing finger.

wow. this is a great recording. Thanks for posting.!!! I was discussing this with my brother-in-law just last week who claimed that no one from the society told jws to not have kids, buy houses..etc. He said the most they said was not to get an education and it was the brothers and sisters who just got carried away( again blame the masses). At the end of the talk, Franz clearly states dubs should only be looking to the new system and not having kids and material possessions..etc.. I can't wait to have him listen to this.. The past history of the society really comes back to bite them in the butt.

Curious, near the end of his speech, Fred Franz talks about the creation of Eve. He mentions god putting Adam into a deep sleep and removing one of his ribs to form the woman Eve. His exact words say, "the rib was full of his blood"????? was this the first blood transfusion.??? Why are jws not allowed blood transfusions, when god used a blood filled rib(according to Franz) to create another person.

Signs of the living dead
by ButtLight ini have watched tons of shows, and read many articles, that said the loved ones that have passed away, leave us little signs that they are still around us.
and, some people have asked for specific signs, and received them.. i never have, and never asked.
just wondering if any of you have?

My father always looked out for me and my sisters, even as we grew older with kids of our own.Even if he couldnt really do anything to make a situation better, he was always there to support and comfort. He passed away 4 years ago. Sometimes when events in life are difficult to deal with, I always talk to him and say I really need his support. Something really good always happens to make things seem brighter. OK, I may just have wishful thinking, but for me, I still believe he looks out for me in many small ways.. It is a comfort to me anyways as I really miss him.

Were you ever a victim of slander?
by Fleshybirdfodder inseems a dear brother was under the impression i had slighted him somehow (to this day i still have no idea what i did), and moved to the city telling everyone about strange masturbatory practices i partook in.
i have no problem admitting i'm an active participant of wining, dining and self seduction, but the things he cooked up in his head were disgusting (even to a perv like me .

yes, I was slandered by an elders wife who I had looked up to and thought she was my friend. I later found out that she slandering others as well and she and her elder husband eventually moved away to another province to start new as most people disliked her.

Aren't You Glad You're Out of the Organization??? Do You Now Have A Life?
by minimus infunny though, the only time i really think about the good old days is when i come here.
when i meet other exjws, quite often they seem consumed by their present situation.
sometimes i like to go out, have a couple of drinks and enjoy the food.

Yep, Im happy my husband and I made the decision to leave 20 years ago. Now instead of Saturday morning field service, we go and have breakfast at a local restaurant then take the dog for a walk . Instead of worrying about studying our watchtower for Sunday meeting, we can choose to sleep in or do whatever we feel like doing for the weekend. We have given our kids the freedom to make choices in their lives that they wouldn't have if we were still enslaved to the organization.Life is for living now,, not to be kept on hold for the "new system". (which is never going to come anyways.)
