Yes, they'll do it, for the reasons Garybuss and Blondie stated. They'll just redefine what blood is, and that will be that.

special talk 15.3.07 - what is official position on earthquakes?
by jeanV inthere is a lot of 1914, how jw's (then known as bible studends) anticipated it was a marked year.
ever since things are going bad, wars, wars and wars, food shortages, pestilences and earthquakes.
here the speaker mentions that earthquakes have increased tremendously since 1914. oh oh oh where did he get it?

While sitting at the KH listening to this great "sign" of the end, I thought:
If earthquakes are so ubiquitous, how many people in this congregation know someone who was killed by one?
And how many know someone killed in a car wreck? That one I could answer: everyone knew at least one because there have been 6 deaths over the years at this cong.
due to traffic accidents WHILE IN SERVICE! Maybe car wrecks should be a sign of the end?

X-Wife Got Married Yesterday........Our Son is Shunned Today!
by new boy inmy wife left me 5 years ago when i left the jehovah's witnesses.
she got remarried saturday to one of "our" old jehovah's witness friends jay .
jay's wife, judy died 6 months ago of cancer.

I cannot blame your friend for wanting to be remarried. Likely, if his wife died of cancer, it may have been an illness which she suffered with
for many years. I have a friend who recently lost his wife to cancer. On and off, she spent the last eight years of her life in clinics, hospitals, chemo, etc...
I am sure there was a loss of marital intimacy as they both fought for health and survival. So, I can understand his wanting to remarry and I won't
throw the first stone, as tacky as his behavior may be. Your ex-wife, on the other hand, is a different issue. I think it is reprehensible to talk to your kids in private and shun them in public.
Well, I think shunning them at anytime is reprehensible, but she lacks the consistency of her convictions, which smelleth of hypocrisy. At least you know the
truth now, Newboy. All the best, sir.

3.9% interest
by indahsempurna indoes anyone else find it terrible that the society is charging interest for congregations to build kingdom halls????
why the hell are people putting money in the "special" box marked kingdom hall fund??
my boyfriend who already hates the witnesses found this absolutely horrible.
-

They charge between 3 and 5 percent interest. The interest is very practical. I do not see that as hypocritical. It usually runs at inflation or just above. That way
inflation does not deplete the value of the fund. In my experience, there was never a stampede to contribute to the KH Building Fund.

Will JWs leave the org because of accelerated doctrine change?
by cultswatter inlooks like the wts is morphing into a totally diferent religion.
they are trying to get new converts any way they can at the same time they are trying to patch previous doctrine in an attempt to give the illusion of true prophecy.. hey wts, no matter what you do it won't work.
the 1914 date is pure fiction, so is 1918/19.

The religion today bears no semblance to the one CT Russell started.
And as was said earlier, JW's are not happy. They once had hope, and hope can bring joy in the face of even the worst circumstances. The Jw's I know do not
have any joy. They thought they'd never grow old and die. Guess what? They're old and dieing--- same as everyone else, except they have to carry the load
the GB have placed on them.

JW: "Spiritual Paradise" (the Org. is way of salvation)
Jesus: I am the way, the truth, and the life.
Why didn't I see it earlier?
Same talk and emphasis on earthquakes, 194, etc... I think they must have had a letter with this talk about staying strictly with the outline.
OTWO: I agree this is a warm up for the DC's this summer: doom and gloom and follow the FDS under the direction of the GB.

Christians could and did. Can JWs? Do they?
by ANewLeif inthere are many things the bible says christians could do and things the bible describes christians doing that, according to their doctrine, jws can't do.. christians could talk directly to jesus.
(acts 7:54-60; acts 9:3-16) can you?
christians could decide for themselves which days they chose to observe without any fear of religious retribution.

Jehovahs Witnesses are not Christians. Their leaders have taken away the natural inclination of any beleiver to want to be with Christ, instead replacing it
with the false hope of never having to die and tap dancing into "Paradise." How can ANYONE be a Christian who does not confess union with Christ? According
to Jesus, it is not possible. Jehovah's Witnesses do not confess union with Christ. What they do confess is association with the "brothers'' of Christ, who in turn
bless the average JW by letting them do all the WORKS that their doctrines command. Jehovahs Witnesses believe in two seperate and distinct destinies for their
believers: heaven for the rulers, Earth for the ruled. Christians believe in one faith, one hope, one baptism. I should know, since I was a JW my entire life, as pioneer,
as elder. I know what they teach becuase I used to teach it. And I KNOW that I did not teach Christianity. I taught Watchtowerism. I taught doctrines of men. I taught a
lie for almost all my life convinced it was the truth. I thank God for showing me mercy and allowing me to see my error.

Questioning Armageddon. How can wife hang onto the Bible? (If she wants to)
by Open mind injehovah wiping out 99.99% of humanity, babies included, is a "problem" or "question" that i think can be very powerful to use with jw family.
especially when presented from a "i just really have a problem with this idea at a gut level" standpoint.. but i haven't used it with my wife (yet) because i see it as a slippery slope that leads to "jesus believed the whole flood story" so i guess we need to throw out the whole bible.
(which, btw, is the very slope i have gone down.

The "Armageddon" that JW's teach, and many other religions as well, IS NOT in the Bible. The JW's have taken a symbolic event in a symbolic book of the
Bible which many of the Bishops at the Council of Nicea had doubts about, and have cherry picked what events to deem "literal" . Much like the 144k. One word
in one book of the Bible given as a "vision" and these guys had us all scared to death.
Easy on the wife, though. Good luck. -

"You'll never even get to finish school in this System of Things....."
by WingCommander inthis statement was often echeod to me during my formative years.
i remember my very first day of elementary school (stateside) at the age of 4. my parents were flustered because they couldn't believe they actually had to start their only child into public school to begin with; after all, the end was right around the corner!
this was 1984, the year the first apple mac was introduced, 80's music was loud and in your face, the delorean was cool, and miami vice was just in production.

The blame can go to and squarely rest on the teachings of a religion that claims divine appointment. These men are responsible, utterly and totally,
for all they said, did, taught, published, demanded, encouraged, etc... because they did so in the name of Almighty God as agents of the same. They abbrogated
to themselves the authority of God and stole for themselves that most precious and fragile possesion of the true believer: their faith.
