I was wondering if you think that JW's sisters are DF'd/DA'd quicker for being "Apostate" or are JW's brothers DF'd/DA'd kicked out faster. I must admit when I go to ex-jws events you tend to see more ex-jws sisters giving their stories. Maybe because the JW's men have all the power in the KH and WTS so they would be less visible then the JW's sisters. What are your thoughts posters.

"False Prophecies or Wrong Expectations" how do JW's decide between the 2?
by booker-t ini have mentioned before that my jw's mother who has been a "devout" jw's since 1965 has defended the wts for over 40 years.
when i mention "false prophecies" and the wts she always says that jw's are not false prophets they just had several "wrong expectations".
i am so confused on this because i am wondering just what do jw's consider a "false prophet"?

I have mentioned before that my JW's mother who has been a "devout" JW's since 1965 has defended the WTS for over 40 years. When I mention "false prophecies" and the WTS she always says that JW's are not false prophets they just had several "wrong expectations". I am so confused on this because I am wondering just what do JW's consider a "false prophet"? How do they make the decision on who is and who is not a false prophet? As I sure many of you are aware of the scriptures that they bring up such as Acts 1:6, Luke 19:11 and Jonah 4 and the scripture with Nathan the Prophet giving "erroneous" info to King David about the temple that Jehovah want to be built. Some JW's use John 21:20-22 with Peter giving false Info about the Apostle that was going to die right then and there. As my mom loves to say "Was Peter a false Prophet" since the Apostle did not die when he said? Did Jesus "rebuke" Peter for his error? My mom also says Peter was not "stoned" and according to Deut 18:22 Peter would have fit the description of a "false prophet" because he went and told the other disciples that Jesus or The Lord" had told him about the disciple dying. My mom also like to bring up Miriam the prophetess and Jehovah striking her with Leprosy for her "erroneous" info concerning Moses. My mom likes to say Jehovah deals with his Prophets and people acting as his prophet-like class in Jehovah's own way. Now I am confused, are False Prophecies really the same as "wrong Expectations" as my Mom loves to bring out? And can the WTS escape the label "false prophets" since no Christian would ever say Nathan, Peter, Miriam and Jonah were False Prophets?

Do you know of any JW's elders charged with "sexual harrassment"
by booker-t ini have mentioned it before that i was extremely naive when i was a devout jw's.
i thought the elders walked on water.
now that i am out it just amazes me how naive i was.

I have mentioned it before that I was extremely naive when I was a devout JW's. I thought the elders walked on water. Now that I am out It just amazes me how naive I was. The elders could have told me that the sky was made out of newspaper and I would have believed it. I now see things so clearly. I remember that a big scandal happened in my KH with one of the elders. Brother elder was accused of constantly flirting with one of the pioneers daughter that was about 18 years old. This elder was removed from being an elder and it took him years to get his eldership back. But I am wondering how many elders sexually harrass JW sisters. This elder was married with kids so I know his wife felt alot of shame. If ex-jws elders or current jw's elders out there can help with this question since you would be the expert on it.

Can an extremely "overweight" JW's man become a JW elder?
by booker-t ini remember years ago at my kh there was a brother that was "very" heavy.
he was a very nice guy brother grover(not his real name) was very helpful to all of the elders and ministerial servants but he never became an elder.
i always wondered why and i think it was because he was "heavy".

I remember years ago at my KH there was a brother that was "very" heavy. He was a very nice guy Brother Grover(not his real name) was very helpful to all of the elders and Ministerial Servants but he never became an elder. I always wondered why and I think it was because he was "heavy". I even remember him telling me that he would love to be an elder so I know he was interested in it. I was just wondering if the other elders in my KH discouraged him from becoming an elder. I saw brother Grover about a year ago at the supermarket and he is even heavier then he was when I knew him 20 years ago. I guessing he weighs close to 400 pounds. He is still nice and pleasant even talked to me telling me to come back to JW's and still talked to me after I told him that I would not come back to JW's. All in All Brother Grover would be a very good elder because he is a people person. What do you think posters do JW's discriminate against overweight brothers from becoming elders. I take this topic very seriously because I am heavy. I am losing weight right now but I remember a MS making fun of my weight in field service years ago and I was only 15 yrs old so I can imagine what Brother Grover must have went through as an adult.

With the "new" DF'd announcement what do JW's elders say about ex-jws?
by booker-t inwith the new way jw's elders "kick" someone out what do they say when they are referring to an ex-jws?
do they say "susie smith" is disfellowshipped?
susie smith is disassociated?

With the new way JW's elders "kick" someone out what do they say when they are referring to an ex-jws? Do they say "Susie Smith" is Disfellowshipped? Susie Smith is Disassociated? Or do they just say Susie Smith is "no longer one of JW's? Did they change all of their DF congregration cards to just say "No longer one of JW's" cards? I am confused. People have been referring to ex-jws as being Disfellowshipped or Disassociated for a million years now they have to wipe out these terms from their speech? Is it not Politically correct to referr to someone as DF'd or DA'd? What happens if the "no longer a JW's" person wants to come back what will the JW's elders say now? Susie Smith is once again a JW's? This is so comical. Like the Artist formerly known as Prince.

Born-Again Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses are "identical twins"
by booker-t ini have said for years that bac's(born-again christians) and jw's see themselves in the other that is why they don't like each other.
i went to an ex-jws potluck the other sunday and sure enough the ex-jws that are now christians started in on me before i could sit in my chair.
they was pushing the "trinity" down my throat and saying that i had to accept the trinity in order to be saved.

JeffT you are doing the same thing you are condemning. You are assuming that I am a non-Christian ex-jws. Where in my post did I mention that I don't believe in Jesus Christ? What makes you think that I am not a Christian the same like you are? You are generalizing people that are critically of Born-Again Christianity and labeling them as non-christian ex-jws. Practice what you preach. I did not say "all born-again christians" act like the lady at the ex-jws potluck I just said Why do some of them. You probably saw some of yourself in that lady at the potluck.

They was pushing the "trinity" down my throat and saying that I had to accept the trinity in order to be saved. I thought I was back at the Kingdom Hall where the elders was trying to push 1914 down my throat. I just don't get it with Bacs and JW's why do they insist on you to accept their interpretation of the Bible. I refuse to let any human being tell me what I have to believe in in order to be saved. I can read the bible for myself. I now realize that "controll" is a big part of Born-Again Christianity and JW's. They want to play the role of Jehovah and Jesus and controll your life. And they get made when you stand up for yourself. It is funny because one of the ladies at the potluck told me she was trying to "save" my soul. I told her she needs to "save" her own soul before she can try to "save" mine which only Jehovah and Jesus can do not her. Is it just me but do anybody out there see a pattern with Bacs and JW's with the controll issue. I think ex-jws bacs are the worst. They do the same thing that they complain the WTS did to them when they were JW's. Can you name other similarities between bacs and JW's.

"Evil Slave" or Apostate which term do you prefer used on ex-JW's?
by booker-t ini hate both terms to describe ex-jws.
i know most people say "apostate" when they refer to an ex-jw that is an opposer now but some will say "so and so" is an "evil slave" now.
evil slave sounds so "boogie man under the bed" that i just laugh when i hear the term.

Are you ex-jws serving Jehovah and Jesus out of fear of Armgeddon/Hellfire?
by booker-t inthe cycle never ends even when you leave the wt.
you go from one set of fears to another set of fears.
i used to be terrified of armageddon when i was a jw and just knew i was going to get hit by a lightning bolt from jehovah on that day.

The cycle never ends even when you leave the WT. You go from one set of fears to another set of fears. I used to be terrified of Armageddon when I was a JW and just knew I was going to get hit by a lightning bolt from Jehovah on that day. An ex-jws said it best when she told me that she refuses to serve Jehovah and Jesus out of "fear". I realized that she was right on the money as to why so many of us ex-jws run from church to church trying to get right with Jehovah and Jesus when we leave the WT we are held down by fear. People controll people with fear. I bet if you ask most ex-JW's or born agains why do they serve 90% of them will say because they don't want to be destroyed or go to hell. I refuse to go on that "fear" merry go round.

Will the "Deliverance at Hand" convention cause the WT to release new book
by booker-t ini am not sure but i think judge rutherford wrote a book called "deliverance" and i was wondering if the wt society will release an updated version of rutherford's book at the 2006 district convention "deliverance at hand" conventions?
