In the ex congo no one had to leave home for the assemblies and as I remember some liked it and found it invigorating, some found it a burden.

Honestly, do you think that JW's really like going to 3 or 4day assemblies?
by JH in.
honestly, do you think that jw's really like going to 3 or 4 day assemblies, especially when it's out of town, far away, and you have to take a motel room, and all the gas money and food money it takes, as well as having to sit down all day listening to endless talks...and that for 3 or 4 days in a row.. and often, they have to take a day off from work, to attend the friday meeting, so no pay for that day.. i think that the jw's are glad when it's finally over, not before.. .

Scientology & Tom Cruise
by rebel8 inthe stuff on the news is fascinating me, so i just had to start a thread about it.. yesterday i saw online at the guardian that tom cruise had hired some sort of cult bodyguard (tongue in cheek) to accompany his new girlfriend (katie holmes, an actress) around to continue her inculcation into scientology.
they are allegedly saying they're best friends now, though they met very recently.. i'm now reading the 6/17 issue of entertainment weekly magazine.
it says:he had a scientology massage tent on the set of his newest movie (his retort is he had a capuccino tent too)he compares psychiatry to nazis and claims jung (famous psychiatrist) was editor for nazi papers (a claim a jungian group denies)he says methadone was named after hitler (also refuted by the magazine)he slams brooke shields for using anti-depressants

Tom Cruise is for scientology what M jackson is for the JWs two big entertainment stars duped by cults. And Richard Gere for the Dalai Lama?
It's hard to see how someone as intellighent as Cruise could get taken in by a wayward cult. -

The GB are whimsical in their views on blood I don't think they will see such a new therapy as valid for the JWs.
I think that as long as someone can use a doctrine change as a basis to sue for loss of relatives due to the blood ban they will not make it, their manouverings here are purely legal and they calculate their every move with extreme care since they are walking in a minefield. -

I recovered long ago and all the info on the net helped a great deal to destroy their belief system and the neagative emotions associated with it. But I still wonder why psychologically it can be so hard to get over the mind conditioning and negative energies.

The Watchtower Says 1 In 4 Persons Likely To Have A Mental Illness!
by minimus inthat's on their website....do you believe this?
-

Strange that in the fairly secure western world there is so much mental illness, people can't see any meaning in life or they feel alienated from society.

The EU and WTS prophecy
by dorayakii inthe european union does not exist on the american political landscape.
at a time when many foreign-policy experts are looking toward a multipolar world with the eu and china as two of the important poles, when foreign-policy issues are more important in the u.s. presidential election than at any time in recent memory, george w. bush has not even mentioned the eu in any speech given in 2004. not once.

Do the events in Daniel really have a fulfillment in our days or is it just the JWs that believe this type antitype interpretation?

Does What You Believe In REALLY Matter All That Much???
by minimus inwhether you are a witness or a muslim, a believer in democracy or theocracy, a liberal or a conservative-----does it ultimately matter??
?

It obviously does matter since this will influence the way you behave towards others and it thus touches on ethical issues do you cause harm to them or not?

by acsot into understand so that's why the wts published the new book being released at this year's district conventions.. the new book gets "straight to the point".

The readers are dumb to find any interest at all in such bs and accept the new light in them as a development of old doctrine instead of the discarding of nonsense that it really is.

Heads-up on two sure-cures for colds, flu, viruses, etc.
by Frannie Banannie ini've seen so many of yall suffering with colds, flu, viruses, etc.....well....either yall or yall's family members.
and it's kinda frustrating to sit back, knowing what i know and have experienced as cures for me and my family members, so that we don't get sick from these things anymore.
it isn't ethical to advise yall to use these treatments, so i'll just let yall know what has worked for us and let yall use your own judgment on whether to try these methods.

Crumpet that's provided the flu viruses are mild and not causing distressing symptoms, I believe. Sore and tickly throat, coughing, runny nose, loss of sense of smell, general indisposition.
