  How well is the Governing Body insulated?

  we know in war you need to confront the enemy ,penetrate all the barriers, and once you get inside you can confront them.the enemy has many layers .the wts has their main headquarters in new york.if new york goes down,the rest will follow.once you get to the headquarters,how many layers do you need to penetrate before can talk to these unreasonable men?

  who would you need to confront?

  Why don't JW friends come over and say hello?

  i always wondered why jw's didn't stop by to say hello, just to encourage or by friendship?.

  but if i showed up at the hall, after many months, they would be happy to see me, and would come to talk to me, and ask what,s going on in my life as if they were really interested in me.

  so, if they were happy to see me at the hall, why wouldn't they be happy showing up at my place too.. why is it that only the elders come over to see me once in a blue moon?.

  he answered, "well you can find me here at the hall all the time".

  That is your "elder/friends" phony baloney, extremely typical, meaningless staple answer. Plus if you're not going to meetings, inasmuch as they are the "spiritual rocks" of the congregation, they wouldn't want you to stumble them and turn the ground they walk on to jello.

  Remember, dubs have many "teachings" that are never practiced. That they are your "friends", and care about you is one of them.

  My experience is that as soon as you stop towing/toeing the watchtower line, they view you as a pile of shit.

  Does that make any sense?

  Have you put your JW family behind you? Are you content with your decision

  just feeling a bit fed up.

  it's not always like this i know but i'm wondering if life would be far easier for me and my wife if i just drew a line under all my efforts to maintain a relationship with my jw mother, brother and sisters.

  all the rejection, judgementalism and condescension gets a bit much after a while.. how many here actually said 'goodbye' to their jw family and can honestly say they did not regret it?.

  I agree. The divisiveness brought on by family members due to their Watchtower brainwashing does get old. That being said, I refuse to cower. I won't back down. Some will go to their grave and not even hear my side of the story. So be it.

  Stealing the publisher's card - how beneficial? how successful?

  gee... the title almost sounds like a wts publication doesn't it?

  anyway, i remember how some of you guys talk of (and actually do) making your publisher cards magically disappear.

  One thing to remember if you were fortunate enough to get your hands on those cards is, that they are filled out manually, and that they are not supposed to be on any computer program.(some congregation secretary's are pc geeks and have them on their pc anyway) So if you got hold of them it's really the only record the congregation secretary is supposed to have of you. Remember those cards are referred to among the BOE as ones "spiritual barometer". Also too, it's usually the only record that tells them when one was baptised, is annointed or OS, and if you were/are an "elder" or "ms' or "pioneer".

  Stealing those would be helpful in that they'd have nothing to send to any other congregation.

  i don't know if anyone remembers me from a few months ago.

  i talked about being in a very serious relationship with a jw.

  we did breakup, but when youre honestly in love with someone, and they claim the same, it's sometimes hard not to get back together.. so that is what we did.

  Congrats on doing the right thing. You've saved yourself a lot of heartache by dumping him now. He probably is "living a double life" as so many in that hideous cult do. It's a great thing that you didn't cave to his demands.

  i've found this article that rang so true to me.

  i share as sacred just about everything described, though in last few months i've found myself betraying my own values.

  so i'm glad i found this reminder, these are defintely going on my wall as my own 20 commandments.

  i'm sure there are many........... what happen in my family was crazy......... glendora califorina 1961.my mother wanted to change khs, it had a "bad spirit" there.

  there was also a mass exodus from the hall.

  she wanted to go to the azusa cong.

  I remember a young gal getting DF'd for lying to Mr. Pigfaced "elder". I was so flumoxed by the announcement it prompted me to look inside the unlocked file cabinet and open the letter "Pigface" sent to Watchtower Headquarters. It read,reason for disfellowshipping, lying.

  I hope Pigface burns in hell.

  Great question. I think there's a host of reasons why some just won't leave. Up here I think that if certain ones left (many are related to each other) it would start a tremendous "domino effect", and they not have the guts to admit after all these years they were dead wrong.

  Others wouldn't have the slightest idea of what to do with themselves, and would probably would jump off a bridge.
