When you moved, did you feel obliged to stay in the same congregation?
by JH inhere in quebec, people move alot.
july 1st comes around, and every year about 10% of the population moves to a better apartment.
i'm no exception, and during my dub years i moved about 5 times in 8 years, always trying to find a better or cheaper place.

What book(s) are you reading?
by gaiagirl ini just finished a 'historical novel' titled "confessions of a pagan nun", by kate horsley.
this is a story about a woman who grew up in ireland during the late 5th and early 6th century, at the time when christianity was beginning to displace the older pagan customs.
the story tells how gwynneve is raised according to the beliefs of her ancestors, and the conflicts she experiences as she gradually comes into contact with those claiming to represent the christian faith.

Just finished reading THE MASTER OF THE RAIN by Tom Bradby, a novel set in 1926 Shanghai, China. I found it to be very enjoyable reading. An idealistic young Brit is appointed to the international police force of Shanghai and his first case is to investigate a series of murders and find the killer before he kills again. The femme fatale is a beautiful Russian woman and the killer is..., well I don't want to spoil the ending for you.
Currently I am reading SPANNING THE CENTURY--The Life of W. Averell Harriman 1891-1986 by Rudy Abramson.

A Quote on This Forum Slaps Women
by writerpen inobviously one of my pet peeves as a former witness was their continual disregard for women and their demand for obedience from us "inferior" beings.
as i would read the literature, i would be inferiorated as they would begin talking about sins or anything negative and immediately change to the feminine sense.
hell, even the bible does that - remember this scripture from the new world translation: "listen to your father who caused your birth, and do not despise your mother just because she has grown old.

If the use of masculine and feminine pronouns offend some, perhaps we should use a neuter term. Instead of "he" or "she," just use the word "it."

Were You Afraid of The DEMONS???
by minimus inmost witnesses believe satan and his demons are looking at them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
were you one of those?
how did you handle stories of demons, witchcraft, etc.??
-
Athanasius
Can't say that the demons ever frightened me. Besides I wear a cross that has been blessed by a priest. Demons are afraid of the cross you know.

Representatives of the Watch Tower (Jehovah's Witnesses) and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) are secretly meeting in St. Louis to discuss the upcoming merger of the two religions. There are still a few issues that need to be ironed out, but beginning on January 1, 2004 the two churches will exchange speakers for their Sunday services and a Watch Tower edition of the Book of Mormon is being printed in Patterson as we speak.

Minimus, the wine at my Church is better than the wine they served at Memorial. By the way I crossed myself before and after partaking and the attendants didn't throw me out.
