My son and another cult
by edge3 insadly i feel like my son is moving toward another paranoid cult like group.
after extracting him, his mom and myself from the jw's 12 years ago my son is now exposed to and possibly buying into another bazzare belief system.
after our divorce, his mother remarried to a guy who believes all sorts of conspiracy theories such as : .

The Watchtower Says.....
by Sunspot inthe wts has said that you must be a jw in order to be approved by jehovah for salvation.. the wts says that any who leave their organization are considered as dead and that other members are not free to speak to or associate with them.. we simply can't rest our hopes on the claims of men for our salvation.
the actions of the wts has proven that thiey are *not* from god nor do they have his stamp of approval, except only in their own minds.. when one's inner heart of hearts shows you that what you may have thought is this "nation", no matter what they *claim* to be----you are forced to look "elsewhere" to find that nation.. when you pray for the holy spirit to guide you (which is a free gift but you ask for it to be in harmony with your dedication to god), and if you keep getting the answer that the wts is *not* what you previously thought it to be, you don't want to go against the holy spirit by remaining where you *know* in your heart and the "nudgings" from the holy spirit that you have asked to help you.. when you ask god for a good conscience, and do your utmost to live up to that plea, and through many years you discover that the "nation" you have attached yourself to is *not* what it claims to be or that truly exhibits the love you had thought was there, or has misled you in the true teachings of christ and the bible......your bible-trained conscience tells you that this is not where you belong and you remove yourself from it.. we must not put our trust in man (men) as the psalms point out, and must put our trust in the higher powers of god, christ and the holy spirit to govern your thoughts---despite the claims of men to the contrary.
any man (or group of men) who tell you that leaving their organization is the same as leaving god, or that you must be in their organization to be approved by god---and that he now views you as dead---is wrong on every possible count.

Why Have Memorial if...
by Sweetp0985 inno one partakes of it?
out of the many memorials i have been to, i only recall 1 when a bethelite came to give our talk and he was of the anointed and partook of the emblems.
but anyway i've read a post on here and heard about a person in my local area that partook of the emblems and their "anointed" status was questioned.

Gasp! Yerusaly...(sp?) Good Point!!!
I read somewhere on the internet that satan loves the JW memorial because every year 6 million JW's are tricked into rejecting Jesus' commandment to partake. Haha. Fools
You are right SweetP - but you know the dubs don't really use the bible. They use the WATCHTOWER. I'm sure the WT explains it perfectly!

Any man (or group of men) who tell you that leaving their organization is the same as leaving God, or that you MUST be in THEIR organization to be approved by God---and that He now views you as dead---is wrong on every possible count. It is arrogant, haughty and blasphemous---to imagine that *they* can decide something of that magnitude.
EXACTLY!! I was just thinking that - couldn't have said it better.

Is It Possible To Reason With A Typical Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus infrom what i can see, it's nearly impossible to reason with a witness, even if you might consider them somewhat intelligent.
-
Bubbamar
This thread is very long.
The answer to the question is obviously a unanimous "NO."
And just to add my 2Cents....I don't think 1914 matters. There will be loyal braindead dubbies no matter what. We all have the evidence of that. When I was in I had no idea what all that crap meant anyway. I just followed the rules because of threats of DFing and Armageddon.

Does Our Being A JW At One Time Mean That We Now Have "Baggage"?
by minimus indo you think we're "damaged goods" now?
-
Bubbamar
I definitely have issues/baggage. How could we not. We've been lied to, manipulated, abused, robbed of our childhood, guilted, shamed, controlled, shunned.....should I go on? It's work to recover from it all.

Help...How should I handle this...
by fyahzwife in...dilemma?
my husband's ex-wife(a baptized jw) has been sending hateful messages with his children(a 4 and 10-year-old), whenever they come to visit us.
(i'm expecting), and she says hateful things about our unborn child to her children, and sometimes they repeat things they overhear her say about me and the baby.
-
Bubbamar
should I just continue to ignore her and pretend it doesn't hurt?
Why should you have to pretend? Tell her how it makes you feel and how it effects your children.
Then punch her in the nose.
(JUST KIDDING)
Good luck
