Probably the grossest thing I've eaten (that I thought was ok) is pickled Tripe! Oh, and I did have a coke with a decomposing cockroach in when I visited Seaworld.... Eeeeeugh!!! Didn't notice it until it's body got stuck on the bottom of the straw!!!!

the other day when i was visiting with my mother she was looking at the new car she and her husband had just purchased.

she told me that they now realize there payments are higher than they should be.

she said sister so and so is going to get them a better loan at her company.

This topic really ties in well with many others - If good happens its a blessing from Jehovah, if bad happens it's all your fault.. (thinking of the 9-11 bethelite comments etc)

It seems a common theme "God works in mysterious ways"... so mysterious we can't understand them but attribute all good things to him, and bad things to Satan or human failings.....

Sheesh, to say Witnesses don't get involved in politics, they make F*ing excellent Spin Doctors!!!! Maybe Tony Blair should hire some........

who else has read it, and what are your thoughts ???.

i've enjoyed it so far, and am glad to see how respectful ray franz was in his writing, with no 'outright attacks' on the wtbts.. bull!

Hi Lehaa,

Glad you found the info encouraging enough to help you make your decision....

My nerves are still raw after 11/12 yrs, and I find it goes against the grain to speak disrespectfully, or against, the WTBTS. I guess I don't want particularly to become an anti witness vocalist; I'm hoping that with enough information / evidence, I can finally commit some of my my memories and fears to the waste disposal, and chip in now and again on the board with a more 'balanced' view.

Looking forward to discussing these books in the future, and hoping to find peace of mind....

i talked to my mom on the phone the other day she is a jw, she knows full well what i think of the jw garbage, and i have tried to make her see it, but it's not use, so i don't go on about it much, aside from the occasional comment to see what the reaction will, in good humour of course... anyway, the other day i was struggling to think of topics we could talk about (typical son/mother relationship) so in my usual amused way i asked what she thought about the new view the society had on blood parts... i was expecting something but i didn't know what.... anyway, my mom calmly as if nothing was amiss, told me that it hasn't changed really, and that 'it doesn't matter anyway, because blood was always a conscience matter' now i love my mom, but this blew me away, i know of, and she knows people who have died because of blood, and she would still probably do it, but more to the point, haven't people been df'd for having blood transfusions?

good grief, if blood is a conscience matter and always was, why the hell so many people die and whose conscience lets their kid die?.

Disastrous In-Flight Structural Integrity Failure

well, that's what happens when you get to hot-doggin' with a radio controlled plane not designed to withstand the forces of certain stunts... .

i was out with the kids, flying my aerobird rc plane (practicing for when i finish building my piper cub model) and had flown a good few laps of the field we were at, and wore down my first battery, so all i had left was the slightly more powerful one.

we put it in, and i decided to impress the kids with how high the thing could go.

I bought my step son a 'buy n fly' aeroplane for christmas.... we were out in the field, less than 20 minutes old, when a gust wind dragged it into a fence! CRUNCH!!!! the shaft that holds the twin props snapped in two, and as it's in a sealed body, I have to use a heated knife to cut it open to get to it!!

Why are some people attracted to Disaster???

hearing once again about the tragic incident regarding the poor korean fellow, got me to thinking, and has me wondering why some people seem to be attracted to this type of news.

I often wonder at human nature - the biggest majority of people tend to like to either know or see 'the gory details'. Could it be sometimes just to know if we're being fed true information ?? I understande what you mean about the dignity in death though - I certainly wouldn't want people gawping at me if I was in that poor mans situation.
