my best friend was worldly all through elementary to high school.
we are still good friends.
i wonder if that led to our being a tad bit more open minded and aided in our exit???
Most of my school years friends were 'worldly'. And yes, I tried witnessing to them on occasion, but for the most part just enjoyed their company. Most of them I still keep in touch with, by email for the most part, but we have occasional reunions etc.

i'm pretty sure everyone has certain comfort foods, or foods that you could eat almost every day and not get tired of..i do anyway.. what foods is everyone here totally stuck on?
chocolate?
ice cream?
Curry !!! The hotter the better - it's not worth eating it unless you're sweating your jacobs off!!! Has to burn on the way out too - keep a spare toilet roll in the fridge for such occasions !
Cumberland sausage rings......
Steak - gotta be rare though
Peanut Butter cups........
Lemon Cheese Cake........
..... gotta stop now, I nearly electrocuted myself dribbling onto the keyboard!

hi all, forgive me and my n00bness if this has been discussed, or if i started this thread in the wrong place.
how does everyone feel about death, and what happens to you afterward?
do you still believe what the wts teaches?
Not so much worried about death itself, as the actual 'act' of dying. Never gaining consciousness again is kind of a wierd thought, but if that's what happens, we wouldn't know about it anyway!
There are lots of theories about it, and that's exactly what they are - theories, beliefs, faith, call it what you will. We're not gonna know for sure until it actually happens to us.
For the time being - I'm content worrying about what life has in store for me !

BTW - Newbies: Welcome !
.
ok...we have been stocking up our liquor bar....and i saw this whisky: macnaughton for super cheap.....................(it says it is a canadian whiskey...but don't believe it........i know canadian whiskey's...this doesn't qualify).
don't buy it...don't go there...................... codeblue
Thanks for the warning codeblue - I've tried a few imported whiskeys, and have to say that I always end up going back to the Single malt scotch whisky - yum! I do enjoy the occasional JD on ice though...
Glenfiddich is good - IMO Glenmorangie is better, Ardbeg is another nice one, and fairly cheap for a single. Steer clear of Talisker - it's a single malt but it tastes like catwazz !
If you can find it - try some Poit Dhubh - unchilfiltered single malt. Heaven in a glass!

its funny that when i imagine what other posters look like - i alway imagine them as attractive, fit, well groomed, with bright, shiny happy faces.
i never see them as obese, nerdy, or with greasy hair and warts and pimples.
their noses are never too big - no body has a "comb-over.
I would post a piccie of myself on here, but I don't think you hot blooded ladies would be able to control yourselves........ from laughing, vomiting, convulsions....
I don't think the internet is ready for exposing pictures of 'Bull' just yet .....
I even tried homosexuality to get a little human warmth.... but soon got tired of men turning me down too !

i've been brought up as a jw, and i am now 20 years old, am away from home at university and have an agnostic boyfriend.
not your ideal jw girl by any means!
all my jw mates are baptised now, and i've managed to hold off til now.
I think you're doing well to stall things Gerbils - you're obviously very strong willed, and smart to boot!
I can't offer any better advice than that you've been given so far, so just wanted to add a "Welcome to the board", and offer encouragement to stay firm in your (in)descision!
Cheers,

can someone explain to me what this is all about.
to those of you who dont know me, i starting fading a year ago now, cant believe just how quick that has gone.
well i separated from my husband, met somebody else, who i have been living for a few months now.
Hi Chok,
Sounds wise not to trust their motives. First and foremost they are witnesses, parenting comes as a second responsibility.
Congratulations on your pregnancy - I hope you and your partner will be happy together as you start your own family!
Best of luck,

i love to get into the whole christmas spirit thing, but i never take it to the point of lying to or deceiving children about it.
i try to teach kids that it is the spirit of christmas that matters... then i saw this thing.
parents are actively trying to deceive their kids by offering them "proof" that santa is real.
I've just gone throught the "Is Santa a real person" question with my little girl....
That question was the easy one - then I got hit with "Why did you tell me there is a Santa, if there isn't one really!
I thought for a minute and told her "It's a thing adults do to make Christmas feel more magical and exciting for little children, then, as they get older, we let them know the truth!"
She was happy with that - no psychological damage, no trauma!
Personally, I reckon kids would love to get a letter from Santa - it would heighten the whole christmas excitement.

a cabbie picks up a nun.
she gets into the cab, and the cab driver won't.
> ok" the nun says.
Heard this one before in it's many different guises, but it still brings a big grin to my face!
Thanks for that!
