for me, it felt that everynight was a meeting night, the relentlous pressure getting to the meetings.. for my husband, apart from the meetings, it was the never ending assiments.

I think if everyone went to the local paper, I think the WT would reconsider, Dfs people so quickly.
The tragedy is most witnesses still believe its the truth when they get ousted out, they accept their bad treatment by trying to get reinstated.

my wife and i were discussing adam being a perfect creation of god.
we as jw's, have always associated adam with being such, but she tosses me a curveball and does not necessairily agree to the standard jw theology.
she believes that had adam been perfect, the sins of the fathers would never have been visited upon his children, we would never have been locked out of paradise and all the ills of this world would never have been an issue.
As someone who has always had JW beliefs, I still am surprised on some subjects.
The example of Adam, do mainstream religions think Adam was perfect or is that only a JW doctine. Also the balance of Adam and Jesus.

i personally am ashamed of my so-called comeback.. hers the story.brainwashed from infancy on,got out at age 16-17-really started hating the religion.tried lots of drugs,sex ,selling drugs ,fighting,partying,gambling-soup to nuts.at a fragile and emotional point in my life,i looked back to the religion{for all those sappy and emotional reasons-ex-my life has no meaning,i dont like the way my life is}i had a short lived comeback,and fell into all the traps of believimg a cult again.thinking i needed "structure"in my life.my mom kept sayimg how i would find a nice sister,blah blah blah.... .
after 5-6 months of going to meetings i* stopped,i realized most of the people there{especial;ly young ones raised in the troof}were living lies,and acting very immature.that was 3 years ago.i havent been to the kh since and never plan on going back.. i guess im embarrssed about this and feel stupid about my "comeback".wondering if this is natural to have a comeback considering my circumstances,or if anyone has done this?.

I had a conversation with my daughter about someome whos son killed himself in August. she was was saying his parents dont attend meetings cos there a pair of manic depressives
If she had been in the same room and not on the end of a phone I think I would have struck her
I was so ashamed a daughter of mine had shown such lack of feeling. By the time id balled her out, i think I got through.
As someone who`s mother repeated tried to kill herself, I have only sympathy for her husband and family

I must say, it really stands out, you Americans do like your coffee breaks, its seams that they were really important.
In Britain, even if you were a pioneer, this really wasnt a big, important thing

In Britain, you usually meet up for field sevice, in the week, about 9.45. Get partened up with someone you dont like stay out one hour , go home
Unless you want to make up your hours then you carry on, go on r.v, bible studies till the afternoon, with a half hour break for lunch, if you were lucky.
What made me really mad was you`d be out of the house for maybe 6 hours and only done 3 hours sevice by the time youd farted about
