Are You a "Mess" Since Leaving The Organization or Are You OK?
by minimus inmost people have left the organization because of emotional issues.
the feeling that there is no real love or fellow feeling seems to get at people.
it gnaws at them.

i don't want to live forever... will i be df'd?
by dh inthis is just a hypothetical question, but lets say you are a jw, but with one thing and another you realised that you didn't want to love forever, and so told the elders that not wanting to live forever yourself, you would be unable to to sell everlasting life to people on the doors, and that if you don't share the hope of other jw's, how can you really call yourself a jw?
basically you do not feel like a jw because you do not want what jehovah is offering you.. would they df you?
or would they let you fade?

imo, tons of shepherding calls for encouragement and then if you refused counsel then you would be df'd

Rage, the WTS and JWD - a year's journey
by talesin init was a year ago this past week that i joined jwd.
being here has helped me with one issue in particular.
i would like exchange feelings/experiences with you about this, as i feel that it could be key for many of us.. i left the jws in 1977, was df in 1979. since then, and up until joining jwd, i had no knowledge of the machinations of the society.. some of the things i learned about here are, the flip flop on organ transplants, the un scandal and the 'two witness' rule being applied to paedophiles.

I wondered why I was not at ease being a Witness.
by PinTail ini wondered why i was not at ease being a witness till i learned what a cult is from many sorces, and stopped being so scared from day to day what god will do to me.
i am still scared of what he will do to me from being raised a witness, its weird they did not teach a firey hell, but they put the same kind of fear in me.
everytime some national problem comes along i freek, even when i no longer go to them meetings or read the tower.

I choose cremation
I guess the idea of having my ashes being spread around gives me the feeling of being "free"
since for 10 years of my life i spent "in a box"
When Im dead, I wont care, but they always say funerals are for the living.

Welcome cuddlepie
I believe Satan and the demons still exist. I've just recently started my jw investigation.
Theres still alot of stuff I have to get over.
This site has helped alot. People here are very intelligent and have researched alot of stuff.
I have asked many questions and have received much support.

When do the nightmares end?
by EyeDrEvil injust a question for the board's input.... background information:.
my wife, raised in a jw home, very popular elder as her father, living through the entire 1975 thing ("honey don't worry about passing 7th grade.
next year will be the new system..."), but beat up for years by the mind-control and spiritual abuse by the wts.... she has recently officially da'd from the society this spring, had her first birthday party ever (a huge blast of a great time!).

EyeDr--
I am still dealing with this myself. I am considering therapy and have talked to many on this board.
I have also been encouraged to investigate for myself. So my journey has only started. I think it is an ongoing
process that will take time, especially for me and the subject of Armageddon.
There is tons of support, ask questions.
