just read a recent awake on fen shui and it's pagan origins and it made me wonder if they have ever printed a similar article on pyramidology, considering russell's preoccupation with it?.
i would appreciate any articles as my w.library is still not working.. (please no more pictures of pyramids though)!
!
Thanks for the quote showing they admitted having received new light on pyramids. You only quoted the one statement, but I thought it was quite frank for the GB to be honest. I mean, they normally say nothing about past errors, or even blasphemously blame God saying that he is revealing his secrets at the correct time.
Just think how they could improve the Awake. They could take (what I find) an interesting subject such as pyramids and explain in detail why Russell believed what he did, why he was wrong, what is interesting about pyramids (math and archaeology and science); an article you would really get your teeth into without the regergitated crap they normally print. They could even leave space for the final paragraph (happy ending) with a scripture or two.
I think JWs would love to read about their predecesors beliefs. They could even do follow up issues on 1975, changes in blood policy, UN membership etc.
I would read it.
we all know the jw view of abortion before leaving but what about now?
how have your views changed?
i used to secretly cheer when i heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions.
No one came back to me on my reply. Was it something I said?

I had never thought about it to be honest (yes I'm a bloke to all you femenist types).
I'm not sure what I think but just to muddy the waters:
The time is very close (AND IT WILL HAPPEN) when a baby can be grown entirely outside a womans body.
Consider NOW
1. is it just a womans issue?
2. where is the cut off point at which it becomes a child?
ya' know this allowance of blood fractions could really be great.
for the organization - all they have to do is apply the same.
underlying principle to all other features of witness belief.
Another thing:
When ever something is a coincience matter, they advise not to stumble others, in other words, keep it out of sight.
Never could get my head around this; God sees everything, God happy, me happy, if someone else is bothered by it they can get stuffed.

anyone have any experience with casting runes?
there's a book about it: "the book of runes," by ralph blum, that comes with a bag of 25 stones imprinted with an ancient viking symbol.. it sounds intriguing, but scary (due to the wts theology embedded in my brain).. supposedly the rune do not predict the future, nor provide specific advice, tho they are written with such wisdom that they seem to do all this.
when you analyze the messages, you see it's your own intuition that pulls what you need from the rune reading for your particular problem at the particular time.. any experience, 1st-hand knowledge, or ideas?
ozboy, welcome aboard. Do a bit more reading and you'll discover we're not in the org either.
