What is the actual mechanism by which God reveals his truth to the Governing Body. The Governing Body have admitted to having made mistakes so it can be logically stated that this mechanism is by nature flawed.
While true that God only has very imperfect people to act as "the faithfull and discreet slave", there is no reason why he would use a flawed or imperfect METHOD of transferring this "life saving" information to them.
The Governing Body has been very quiet about what this method actually consists of.
Surely they must also be aware that delusions of a religious nature are common in various mental disorders such as schizophrenia. Is there any way of judging whether truths are the product of ones own mind, if not the product of the Devil.

Should I call the local elders
by joelbear inwitnesses always say if you have questions, you should discuss them with the local elders.. most of you have seen over the past few days, the 5 or 6 questions which led me to leave the witnesses and take up my hedonistic lifestyle.. should i call the elders and give them a chance to answer my questions?
i've asked my father some of them, but it always turns into an argument and upsets my mother too much for me to really pursue the discussion as far as i would like.. just to reiterate.. my questions are:.
1. is there a logical explanation of god's justice system for the universe, which includes all sentient creatures and how they are judged?.

reproduction is the driving forve of evolution, so why does evolution not simply favour the genes of those that reproduce the most...i.e.
not the most fit, intelligent, etc.. and if this is the case, why does the world not fill up with rampant nyphomaniacs?

Yes proplog, but from the point of view of the genes, it doesn't matter if the owner has any extreme traits, just as long as they get copied as much as possible.(on the basis that the other traits don't actually prevent or deter procreation)
Lets assume it was found that one particular socio-economic group had more children than another, this groups genes would begin to make up a larger percentage of the gene pool. -

I have always held the view that humans in developed countries had removed themselves from the evolutionary process because through modern medicine, etc we are almost gauranteed survival. (almost but not quite)
Therefore, it seemed to me that the only gene left with the upper hand is one which reproduces the most. (of course as long as the rest of the body is half decent and capable of procreation).
And these genes would become more and more dominant in the gene 'pool'??? -

Put it this way....
Humans have evolved to a level that's pretty good at surviving, so you would think that now, the most important factor in spreading your genes would be simply to have loads of offspring.
Wouldn't this over time cause the gene pool of our society over-all to proliferate with genes which have the tendancy to spread themselves (i.e. the sexy gene)?

my daughter's boyfriend is JW!!!!!
by concerned mama inmy 9th grade daughter has an "in school" boyfriend who is jw.
"in school" because she is not allowed to date yet, only go out in groups, and he, of course, is not supposed to be attached to any girl, especially one who is not jw.
he is actually a very nice boy, but he is so confused.

No, not related to the number of witnesses, but to the number of EX-WITNESSES.
I don't have figures on disfellowshippings, only net gains and losses; Britain has a larger net loss of witnesses than America so I guess there should be a lot of British ex's, therefore a large number of posters.
Of course, America could be making net gains and HUGE over all losses, but that would be a good thing.
ANYWAY, it's good to see everyone and anyone, but I know most ex-witnesses do not even bother.
Out of my 6 bros and sis, 5 are disfel, only 3 others have the internet and none have ever looked up JW on the internet.
Shame.
