A story of brotherly love.....
by Tatiana insince i've been here, from around july, 2001, i haven't really shared any personal experiences of why i left the society, except for the story about my sister who committed suicide.
this is kind of long, so i will tell it in parts.
if this is god's organization, i will gladly be a devil worshiper.. here goes....... when i was about 27 years old, (around 1984) after my divorce, i'd moved from laurens, south carolina back to andrews, sc, and rented the house beside my grandmother.

There was a witness brother I had business dealings with and I had to show him the locations of a couple of clients just after I was disfellowshipped. For some reason, he felt that now I was disfellowshipped he could use the 'fucking' word every other sentence.

yes, still going, must be 8 going on 9 days.
In answer to you, I don't know what the exchange rates are but cheap brand here 4 pounds and expensive brands are 5 pounds per pack of 20 cigarettes inclusive of any taxes. I understand it is one of the most expensive countries for smoking (if not for most other things also), perhaps someone who knows the exchange can compare this?
A 30 a day habit like mine would have cost me 2463 pounds 75 pence a year. -

How Many JWs Fully Buy Into the WT Party Line?
by Room 215 infor those of us with years of acquaintance with the wt and its teachings, it's clear that full acceptance of the 1914 date as the establishment of god's kingdom in the heavens is a non-negotiable condition of remaining in good standing in the organization.
many of us know people who've been booted out just for expressing misgivings, lety alone outright denying this teaching.
almost as central, and as non-negotiable, is the teaching that only baptised jws can expect to survive the big a.. .

It's not just in informal settings or social gatherings where you will here things like:
"even if we cannot fully understand, trust in Jehovah" and "it is not important to know all these minor details, Jesus choose simple ordinary men" and "that is for Jehovah to reveal in HIS own time" and numerous, numerous other such statements are the bottom line of their whole teaching.
This is important. This is where the buck stops in the organisation. Every single argument in the truth, whatever subject, whatever Bible version, whatever brother or sister always ends with the same force majeur.
A whole section of the United book (if I remember correctly) is devoted to the teaching that if you are unsure of some belief then simply trusting in Jehovah is all that is required. -

How true is this? (dilbert)
by Simon indilbert's "salary theorem" states that "engineers and scientists can never earn as much as business executives, sales people, accountants and especially liberal arts majors.
" this theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on the following two well known postulates: .
postulate 1: knowledge is power.

Cheers UR! I'm off work today on my 7th day with a real stinker of a cold / flu. I remember when I gave up before this happening. It almost as if your body throws on a fever to sweat out all of the toxins accumalated over the years. Actually, I had to stop taking the zyban (bupirion) pills cas of the side affects, but hey, I don't need them anyway.

Tell Old School Friends That You've Left?
by Englishman insome of the uk national newspapers have been referring to the web-site at http://friendsreunited.co.uk/, where thousands and thousands of brits have been getting back in touch with old school friends.. just out of curiosity i decided to take a peek.
well, i was stunned.
many long-forgotten class-mates had my mind leaping back to the early 60s, particularly when they mentioned the weird nicknames that we had given to our teachers.. the french master, froggy fleuriot, mousy mclaughlan with his rats teeth, bummer burrell well, i will leave that one to your imagination.
