once again, no good unless you live in the US. There are other people in the world you know. When I post something applicable to just Brits, I acknowledge the fact.

How do you feel about paying TAX?
by sleepy ini just had a shock today when i realised that i had just paid too much tax for last year.
i had forgotten to add almost 1000 pounds expenses to my tax return.. oh yes i'm going to get some money back.but should i be so hasty, this money will go toward policing , education and many other important needs of society.. maybe it would just go to some corrupt official or politician who will spend it on a slap up meal.. so how do you feel about paying your taxes.
are they too high or not high enought.. are there any better ways for keeping countries running smoothly.. also what taxes do you pay in other countries?.

Announcing the Great Apostate Song Contest.
by Mindchild ininspired by district overbeer valis and his smurf sticker contest, i decided to up the ante and announce a song contest for all you so inclined to play.. what i have in mind is this: take any recorded song you like, even the dreaded jw kingdom songs, and redub them to something much more fun!.
if you have a cool bastardized song (well that is what valis says it is called when you do this) then we can try it out at some of the apostofests that seem to be popping up like crazy all over!.
what do you win?

tune wars was a web site which specialised in this with hits like "what if God smoked cannibis?" instead of the actual song lyrics. I think they released some albums too. I'll see if I can find the web site.

What weas interesting was that not a single reply came from Great Britain from where you posed the question.
What I would like to ask those in the US is how do you feel having to pay for health care (medi care do you call it?) on top of taxes? It is included in our tax even though the service we get flucuates between areas and medical diciplines and is the subject of much controversy?

baptised at 13, disfellowshipped at 22 and still thought it was the truth for another 2 years or so before coming to my senses. Thank God that one of their sickening practices (disfellowshipping) actually frees people from the brainwashing... the truth shall set you free.

Even after I had left the truth and was disfellowshipped, it sent shivers down my spine just reading web sites like this. I thought I was letting the devil into my heart. It was very chilling.
It makes me very aware that new people here may feel very wary.
The brain washing I had experienced took a long time to wash away. -

hi and welcome.
You are lucky to have the moral support of a friend in the real world. Some of us have come a long way on our own and have only discovered web sites later on. I still don't know any "ousted" persons in my area and have been unable to make contact with anyone that I know to be disfellowshipped. I do have a lot of real friends (you know - the so called worldly ones) but I hang out here so much 'cas most of the peeps here know what I've gone through.
