as a semi-outsider, i've struggled at times to understand exactly when and how jw's believe the 'sin' occurs in transfusion.. specifically, at what point in the process does the 'sin' occur?.
for example, would a jw sin if they were to attach a small surgical tube to a hypodermic needle, put the tube in their mouth, insert the needle in a vein and swallow a mouthful of their own blood?.
note that by jw standards and rulings, the blood has not left the body in this scenario.

i learned of the death of someone yesterday that was never a very good person.
i can't help but wonder where he is now... is he dead "aware of nothing" like the jws always said?

I will say life is amazing, and death is the end of our bodies and it will take some research on your own too explore the various concepts on the here after or even if there is a here after.

i don't wish to offend any that are teaching their kids at home, but today i was again confronted by a situation where a jw family were home schooling.
the kids had little structure to their routine and without putting the mum down, she was no teacher in an academic sense.. the subject is close to my heart because my parents who are witnesses, took my younger brothers out of school and home tutored them.
the were subjected to below standard education and limited in social skills, particularly as my parents are crap at these skills themselves.. i have grown to hate home schooling except in the situation of medical or logistical situations.. what are your comments good or bad and do you think the option to home school is abused by the witness community?.
I home schooled my oldest son through high school, it was a complete and utter disaster. I did schooling with him every day for about 4 to 5 hrs a day 5 days a week. My son had learning problems I could not overcome without a lot of help. My JW husband thought home schooling would be great and it wasn't. My son never did get his diploma till later on. I still have serious regrets over that but maybe my son will over come the handicap my ex-husband and I saddled him with.
yes slacks and pants on women are evil.....the first step to wanting to be elders or even worse lesbians!
so the watchtower in it's wisdom put a strict bad on women wearing pants at meetings, even in siberia or alaska where it is freezing cold....i qoute the governing body who said: "we need to show these sisters who wears the pants in our congregations...literally.".
in the 70's when it was all the rage, my mum tried wearing slacks to the hall....."go and get changed" said the sister who studied with her.
My Mom and I were rebels in the 1970's in the cold winter months we decided to go out in pants suit. We worked a whole street in the rural area and had a good day by JW's standards. After the other JW's heard about it though the Elders said no more. I said fine we will just stay home on really cold days and you Elders can go out. My Mom and I both came into the witnesses as adults.

i just wanted to share this story with everyone:.
last weekend on saturday, my wife found out that field service was not being cancelled due to snow.
all week prior to saturday, my wife kept saying that she was going to swim classes with my daughter and i and actually swim with my daughter that morning.
The hard thing is your wife is confinced she is right because that is what the JW's taught her. Challenging her concepts, especially challenging the words like "Unbeliever", or "Worldly Person", you need to point out to your wife those are words used to try and put a division between JW's and other Christians or people of other faiths. You need to let her know that she is never to refer to you as an unbeliever or a worldly person to your children ever. It makes anyone they make that comment about to be something less important or acceptable to God. They are not representing God exclusively except in their own perception which does not make it correct.
Garyneal you handled your wife very well, keep her challenged. Never ever force your daughter to go to the JW meetings and your wife should never be allowed to make comments about people calling them worldly people, that is insulting and rude. Love your wife unconditionally and if she doesn't share in activities with you and your daughter let her know what she missed. The witnesses love to say that Jesus came to cause division of father against son, mother against daughter etc., (Matthew 10:32-38) like that is something to be expected in being a Christian.

Something JW never mention is that down in Matt 10:40 it shows that the above scriptures refered to rejection of Jesus as the spokesman from God. That was the only condition to accept Jesus as a Prophet of God and his followers who preached about it. It does not say anything about an organization speaking out for Jesus.
i found a dvd about evolution and great ways to teach it to children, i discovered that is promoted at uuc, it seems that the group is oriented towards acceptance and not totalitarianism.
since i like to associate with others who think the same way i would like to know what do you think about them?.
I attended UU's for about 2 years, but had to drive about 20 miles one way so we eventually had to give up going and I found a Church closer to where I live but it wasn't a UU Church.
They are very liberal, and people from all walks of life attend UU, atheist, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Wiccans, anyone who craves spirituality but without all the put downs. I loved it and so wish there was one closer to where I live.
i was having an affair with a pioneer at the time and a girl who was disfellowshipped was in the loo at the hall (she actually had not done aything scriptually wrong (but the elders thought she had ) i tried to smile at her as i felt i was not in a position to judge anyone as guilt was destroying me but she just looked down at the floor , 14 years later we are good friends and both "free".
when you were "in" and ignored disfellowshipped did you ever think "im not in a position to judge anyone " ?.

i hadn't attended meetings for over a year now and i had a good jw friend from another hall.
she was friends with me before me being a witness.
we knew each other from school and she had a hand in converting me.
JW friendships are strictly conditional. If you don't attend meetings, or go out in door to door they will not count you as a friend. Actually the marriages are along the same lines.
