  Would the Jehovah's Witnesses be willing to celebrate their spiritual birthday every year?

  one of their spiritual sisters said that since jesus attended weddings, that makes it okay to celebrate annual wedding anniversaries.

  using this logic, since jesus approved of and attended his own baptism, that should, therefore, make it okay for jehovah's witnesses to celebrate their spiritual birthdays on that same day every year.

  how exciting to have this new adjustment to our understanding of birthdays!

  Some people started doing this in the 80s - the borg quickly clamped down on it.

  The only thing witlesses are allowed to celebrate is their wedding anniversary (ie their first F***)

  in johns gospel jesus refers to the "helper" "the spirit of truth" saying "when he arrives he will etc".

  the wt justified their use of he in this instance, because in greek the word is masculine gender.. (aside from the ludricrousness of this argument - english does have neuter pronouns).

  have they changed he to it inthese passages?.

  Remember when they just tossed away the misery of young witlesses who went to prrison over this?

  They said it so weasel: "How should a witness who went to prison conscienciously feel now that Brothers can accept alternative service WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES" - why dont these duplicitous swine admit that young men were threatened with DF if they took alternative service?

  Why dont they admit that in Poland young brothers left school and got jobs in the coal mines, since then they would not be called for service, but brothers called to the military were not allowed to accept coal mining as alternative service and were coerced into going to jail.

  Why dont they admit that for some young men prison was a hell of rape. That some were so starved of love they ended up DF IN PRISON and shunned by the other Dub prisoners for falling in love with another inmate?

  I see a pattern:

  Russell came along and trashed Barbour's teachings.

  Rutherford came along and trashed Russell's teachings.

  Knorr and co came along and trashed Rutherford.

  The current leaders are trashing Knorr and co.

  When they croak their last their teachings will be trashed too.

  What is the point of learning or believing any of the rubbish they have printed for 140 years? Why not do your own trashing now?

  I can see why Terry is MAD - I just read his book.

  The WT justified their use of HE in this instance, because in greek the word is masculine gender.

  Have they changed HE to IT inthese passages?

  I say their argument is ludicrous because a good translation uses the TARGET language correctly.

  For instance in french "chaise" (chair) is feminine, but you would not translate into english "SHE is a comfortable chair".

  In German "Madchen" (little girl) is neuter, but the english would not be "IT is a pretty girl".

  In english we refer to boats and ships as "she", but if you translated a french novel about the sea into english you would not have the captain saying "HEs a good boat" (french "bateau is masculine") it is just not a good translation.

  If greek has a neuter gender, why would Jesus use a masculine instead of neuter for an impersonal force?

  surely jesus would have noticed what they had been teaching about his second coming, or invisible presence as they prefer to call it.

  matthew 24:3 37 .

  today they teach that he returned to begin his second coming in 1914. but the proclaimers book explains that this was not what they were teaching before, during and for many years after jesus' inspection in 1918-1919. on pages 46 and 47 it explains that in 1876... .

  "do you realize how much of a privelge it is to enjoy the visit of the circuit overseer?

  they are appointed by the governing body who in turn are apointed by jesus and holy spirit.

  so you have a great privilege when we visit your congregation, because it is the same thing as having jesus visit you.

  Remember too that when anaesthetics were first mooted they were viewed as placebos and a con. Rejcted by the establishment along with antiseptic concepts, which were laughed down.

  Blood transfusions too were mocked. now if you dont want one you are a fool. Once you were bled for disease, if you didnt want it you were a fool. If you refused tartar emetics you were a fool.

  Medicine is one of the most conservative and unadventurous of the sciences. Every truly revolutionary step forward has been trashed by the establishment.

  Only by going to China and getting a full degree in medicine there would you have any real ability to evaluate a treatment that is used in MAINSTREAM medicine.

  Oh and I JUST LOOKED AT THE PAGE AGAIN AND SAW:

  "Hosptial food is not just bad it is also BAD FOR YOU" can we have some research on this much more vital issue than hot flushes and acupucture? Of course using double blind and placebo groups.

  PRAY TELL:

  Were the patients in the HOUSTON double blind test charged the full fee for treatment, even if they got the pretend placebo?

  How many American patients are being charged the FULL WHACK for surgery or drug therapy etc, and not told they are being given a sugar pill?

  How is this right in the land of the free??

  If I went into hospital, I am not sure I would even trust the doctors anymore - Am I getting a proven treatment, a new treatment that could kill me in the experiment, or a bit of sugar?????? And MY money pays for the experiment on ME!!??

  Fulltime - I know an acupucturist :

  The exams are very critical - Miss ONE point and you fail totally and have to resit. Also if you miss a point by a cm the patient would be in PAIN.

  Try sticking pins in yourself and see!!
