If you read gnostic writing you'll probably realise the similarities in writing. Whether before or after this or that time, it is of a gnostic style.

gospel of thomas verse 11: the dead are not alive, and the living will not die.
during the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive.
when you are in the light, what will you do?

todays' study article stated in paragraph 6 "harmonizing the gospel accounts indicates that only after this traitor was gone did jesus institute the memorial of his death.
" paragraph 2 cited the 3 gospel accounts including luke 21:19,20 but conviently excluded verse 21 why?
because immediately after mentioning the loaf and wine jesus stated "but look!
I would suggest to exJWs to stop saying 'memorial'. There's a few words that JWs use that are just SO JW, like 'ransom', or 'pleasing Jehovah'(appeasing the imaginary beast).
The religion seems so preoccupied with the notion of doing something for a return, betraying the kindness within.
Judas remorse was for a trading loss under the law, "I've killed an innocent man!"
Did Judas follow Christ to learn how to help people ? or was he thinking about what was in it for him - all that talk of the kingdom and stuff - hey, maybe even a little extra now (from the money bag), you know, to be extra cumfy and happy from the hard work of saying 'boo' to people.
The watchtower societies' whole religion is about work and acquirement - the amount of work is even recorded, like Egyptians.
As for whether Judas ate at His table, yeah, I reckon he wasn't a foreigner, but one of the twelve (of Israel), who should "still keep the passover to the LORD". But he went out of 'the house' after having a morsel, so maybe he symbolically rejected the blood of the lamb.

for months now i have been looking in to the jw religion.. there is one question that just keeps bugging me.. what allows a person the privilage of sleeping at night when they consistantly decieve 7.5 million people on a daily basis.. i mean it is your job to lie to cencere innocent people.. these people are just looking for god and you take advantage of it and turn them against other the entire world seemingly think not nothing of it.. you live in comfort and security while your followers face the harsh 'world'.. how can sombody do that for a living?.
how can somebody tell such bold face lies, condem others for doing something which they consider to be wrong while they continue to do it themselves?.
this is mind boggling.
I've noticed they seem to have a certain smile, and it's like someone's taken over their bodies, like invasion of the body snatchers or something, and also, the males seem to develop that smile into a proud / scoffing sort of outlook - and then you know it's gone to far and they've become a devil.
Freaky shit. How do they sleep ? I don't think it's them anymore.

witnesses always strongly state that they strictly follow the commands of jesus and all bible principles.. i have such an important (to me, anyway) question that i would appreciate a meaningful answer to:.
at matthew 28:19, jesus issues a direct command to his followers, that being: "go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing then in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit".
why doesn't the wbts then follow this command, which has never changed, and taken it upon themselves to add to and alter what the bible clearly states on this?.
<< Witnesses always strongly state that they strictly follow the commands of Jesus and all bible principles. >>
But they're lying.
"do the SAME as the Samaritan"
Seen them all doing that one?

i feel you need some balanced education in the scriptures.
i have posted this here as the other thread is going off on a tangent, my point is from that thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=23284&site=3&page=2.
in regard to my quote from matthew 11:2024 about those in capernaum being more wicked than those in sodom, and also the fact that they had seen some of the most powerful works and miracles of jesus.
How can 6 billion people alive now have sinned against the Holy Spirit if they know far less, and have seen nothing of Jesus’ miracles and proof like those in Capernaum did?
Who knows how many live in that state but some people, like those pharisees, can't accept Grace, the Holy Spirit, the idea of not somehow earning your way in God's favour. It's blasphemy to God to maintain that He would trade 'love', like a beast. They are unable to truly accept forgiveness, because they think they have to do something, or perhaps they have done something - and so worship the image (not real of course) of a beast, a trader (traditor - see Judas - Esau & Judas suffered loss in an imaginary trade).
"God trades love" is blasphemy - JWism.
"God gives to the good and evil" - is christianity, and many others.

the contradiction below is just one among a great many which show that the bible cannot be trusted to give an accurate account of jesus life.. mark believes that jesus cursed the fig tree before he drove the merchants from the temple:.
the next day as they were leaving bethany, jesus..said to the tree, "may no one ever eat fruit from you again.
" (mark 11:12-14).
Mark believes that Jesus cursed the fig tree before he drove the merchants from the temple:
Does he?
Perhaps the next morning Jesus went back and started driving them out again. He went and began driving them out, again - could have been an ongoing chore.
In either case, the Bible is in error--again.I've never examined this 'discrepancy', but your logic on this seems presumptuous.

i'm probably gonna get creamed for this but i've made an observation and i need to know if i'm the only who feels this way...anywho...here goes.. ever since i left the "borg" a couple years ago i've been trying to find a home.
i thought i would find it in a group that did not agree with their teaching.
(i.e., apostates or chat rooms where free discussion is promoted) as time goes on, i realize i may be mistaken.
There Are groups who do the will of God.
They're conspicuous "by their fruits", not "by their bible study"
"behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you"

this has probably been addressed before, but.... the other day a philipino man knocked on our door.
my husband answered it, and a nice elderly man said something in philipino to us, holding a watchtower and awake.
my husband said we only spoke english, and the old man smiled, said something and left.
Some came two days ago.
As usual they started talking about the world, what do you think about this etc. - typical giveaway.
"They are of the world, therefore what they say is of the world"
Naturally they brought bad news and talked about bad news and the world. There was no "do not fear" stuff to let me know that it was the Lord.
They proceeded to try and flatter me, while scoffing at the deeds of others. After I plainly and firmly said NO to receiving their "good news", they wished for me to have a good day.
HONEY, THERE'S A STINKING DEVIL AT THE DOOR, COULD YOU TURN THE HOSE ON FOR ME.

i've been thinking about this for sometime now and i wanted to know how other people felt about this comparison.
the pharisees were known for hypocrisy and for also promoting traditions of men and other non-bibical teachings.
when we look at the wtbs in light of the actions of the pharisees there are some amazing similarities.
Rather than Sadducees and Pharisees, it's more like Pharisees and scribes.
The scribes busied themselves with searching texts for God and neglected more important issues, and it was because of this that they would never understand the text anyway.
The Pharisees thought in terms of earning, like the JWs, they traded (buy and sell) love, or what they thought was love - it was about payment or repayment - that's the blasphemy - they're saying God is like a beast, but it's their image of God. The Pharisees, like the JWs, also represent the terrible father figure who has lots of rules and keeps you guilty even when you're not. Jesus really didn't like that, and also witholding material wealth - prostitution and stuff wasn't so bad compared to that.
The Parisees also liked to be clean on the outside, travel distances to make a single proselyte, neglect 'Samaritan' type of work and judge everyone else as not being as 'good' as themselves (having been chosen an' all), and of course be hypocritical.
I can't think of another group on earth who more closely resembles the Pharisees and scribes of Jesus' time. Being goats, they would unwittingly try to take the others' food - they didn't really care deep down about others, just about getting along with their own.
I'll have to agree with Christ.

there are some jw's who will leave the watchtower orginization for years and then suddenly show back up at the kh often saying they have regrets of leaving and are often heard to say.. "there is nothing out there.".
as i contemplate my official exit from the borg, this question keeps coming up.... what is it that makes these people return to the borg after leaving for years?.
-stealth
Why do they return?
Where else is there to go where you can -
- put down all the "badies" and be the "goodie"
- "save" the world
- even get the girl
- have the "power"
- and live happily ever after
AND, you don't even have to do the same as the Samaritan.
It's the troof!
