  i'm sitting here with great trepidation at being here.

  i logged in yesterday, compelled by i don't know what...maybe to see who was around, or what everyone had been up to.

  i hadn't logged in since i left back in november (december?).

  I for one am glad you are back, you were one of the first people that responded to one of my first threads, and I remember you. Im glad you made the decision to post again. I was getting hooked on posting, then got a little fed up to when I thought I wasnt being heard. Im glad yoiu gave it another shot. I lurk a whole lot more than post, and I think it gives me an opportunity to add what I want, think about what I say before I say it, and if its not positive, I don't reply. Negative tones in ppls posts have hurt my feelings on more than one occasion, especially if it is a topic that I feel passionate about. But I decided to take peoples responses (or non-responses) with a grain of salt, just like any other group of strangers that I would talk to.

  Well, I think I have digressed enough for one post....so w/b (hug)

  Im sorry to hear about your nan (hugs). Sorry I can't be much help to you, but I do send out warm vibes to ya.

  I know that my gm just was diagnosed with colon cancer, and they removed about 6 inches of her transverse colon not a month ago. She is 79 and a tough bird at that. But low and behold a month and a half later after this surgery, she is up to walking 2/3 mile every day on her treadmill. Talk about hardcore :). People have a lot more inner strength than they give themselves (and their family) credit for. Maybe this is just the little push that your mom needs to start examining her own life. ( I think my mom is going through that crisis now) and she will be more understanding, loving etc.

  i am going to the memorial because i am still confused and stressed and discombobulated on the jw issue.

  i know in my heart it is "not" the truth.

  my family keeps stopping by unannouced and seeing if i am going.

  Brooke, big hugs to u for going through the motions. I went last year because silly me, I visited my mom on the wrong week.

  Feeling guilty, and from insistant begging on my moms part to go "just for me" I went.

  I hadnn't been to one in over 7 years, and it was surreal seeing all these ppl I had grown up with and shared so many times with.

  I cried when I saw my best friend's (who died of an od 2 years ago) sister. They look so much alike I could not hold back anything. As far as being happy, I was dealing with ppd, my baby was only 4 months at the time AND SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING (lucky me). My mom was sympathetic to my needs with the baby and we sat in the library.

  My advice: take your son, let him get all hopped up on caffiene (maybe give him a coke beforehand) and watch the show unfold!

  J/k ...you have gotten some great advice from people here. The things we do to keep our families happy, eh? Im sure everyone here will be memorializing Jesus in their own way.

  In lieu of wine, Ive decided to partake of some amerreto sours and munch on some triscuit crackers. This year, I remembered when spring equinox was so I could avoid even calling my relatives before or after for the week.

  Just sit there with a smug smile on your face, knowing you have found the real "truth" and make all the little Jehoovies squirm. Thats the best part. When stared at cross your eyes and smile and wave. Or stare back. That always works for me.

  A comment I heard tonight

  tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

  the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

  through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

  Witness Sister Alone At Our Door on Sunday ..No knock ..Just Silence

  we had a jw sister come to our door on sunday by herself.

  she walked up really slowly and quietly.

  In our hall, all the JW kids in our HS went out in service on Tuesdays and Thursdays (the pioneers were so desperate for time they would pick us up and drop us off) and I remember many houses where we would go up, and if it looked empty, we wouldnt even knock, just stand there, talking about anything but service with my best friends, I always hate going out after school b/c of seeing all the kids I just left school with....gees, what a drag.

  I can also remember a couple of times I would have RVs in the country, took 1/2 hour, 45 minutes drive to and from. I made up quite a few of them just for such occasions

  heehee- thought Id tell ya that I knew what the phrase was in dustins thread....didn't want to hijack his thread....I just love that part of Austin Powers wher Dr. Evil spouts that off.   i went to the kingdom hall for the very last time.

  i went in the door in my guns n roses t-shirt and ripped up lucky jeans, new earrings and goatee.

  i went up to the po of the congregation and told him i needed to talk to him.

  Isnt it funny how a stupid 5 minute talk can take days and days to write, but when writing from the hearts, the pen overflows with thoughts waiting to be scribbled. Im very proud of you dustin, you've got what the French call a certain "I-Don't-Know-What" (Last line courtesy of Dr Evil! ) Or "moxie"

  And this really is the first day of the rest of your life.

  Congrats, you've done what some of us (including me) only dream of. I would have loved to see their faces.

  the kingdom hall where i used to go has the theocratic ministry school and service meetings on tuesday.

  i have finally come to grips with my need to exit the jehovah's witnesses forever.

  i told my parents today that i'm leaving the jw religion behind forever.

  Dustin, you are now turning the page into real adulthood, where you see the needs of yourself surpassing those of pleasing your parents. I applaud you because you have enough gumption to set matters straight, and you're being honest with your parents to boot.

  just curious as there are so many people joining this forum everyday, i will eventually meet up with somebody from there.. .

  If I believe correctly, Inez usta be in my old circuit, they met in Huntington, where my family resides. I have a few freinds but more like maysville, and farther east, heading toward the edge of the state. Course I moved away :)
