  don't become emotionaly attached to jw.com.

  it seems that many of our friends here have become too emotionaly involved with this discussion board.. it has eaten into their personal lives,and caused upset and anger.. it is a shame as a times there can be great encouragement and words of wisdom here.other times nonsense and triva.. it can be addictive, and i sometimes find myself wandering here too often.. but i think its good to keep yourself detached from the people here unless you know them more personnaly.. internet conversations are different from face to face chats, and people say things they wouldn't normally say in front of someone, or say things due to lack of understanding , of other peoples needs.. we would't want to put people off from coming here by petty bickering and such.. i believe that restraint is sometimes called for and a little patience on our part when we feel hurt by peoples cutting remarks, imagined or other wise.

  Maybe I'm wrong...but I think people who invest more time here are more inclined to get emotionally attached. I have found that I am logging on at home now...not just at work. I have even stayed back late at work (which my boss thinks is due to my dedication to a project) when really I am wanting to get in one more post lol.

  I agree with Heaven...if emotional attachments online creep into our personal relationships...big problemo!! Not just 'good' emotional attachments...but the bad ones too..the ones where a poster really gets under your skin and you want to poke them in the eyes with red hot pokers...sorry...that was a bit too graphic...and I NEVER thought about doing that to another poster on here...honest

  is it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?

  if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.

  how does your "on screen" sexual-personality line up with your "in person everyday" one?.

  for example: some posters are very liberated & graphic on-line when discussing sex, but to their mate or to the average person on the street they may seem like "old-dubs" or just very conservative.. please answer honestly & give me a break, this might be my first "fluffer"

  how did going to the kingdom hall, interfere with your tv viewing?

  i love watching american football, so right after the meeting all in my family would go straight for the car, so we could catch as much as possible.

  How could you people think about TV on a meeting night? Didn't you go home and reflect on the meeting over a cup of tea and a slice of cake...discussing all the upbuilding points with your spouse/siblings or children? Nah, me either. My ex always thought I was such a rebel..I'd flick on the TV and try and catch the late news...then I'd crack the shits if I'd missed it because he had to stay back and do elder stuff...so I begged him to let us buy a tool of satan (video recorder) but he was reluctant...because that would mean more time spent in front of the television. I used to video tape ER...that was the only show I was allowed to watch

  was it celebrating the holidays for the first time, or talking to a "worldly person"?.

  how long till it began to feel normal?

  What - if any - Religon are you now practicing?

  i know this seems like a dumb subject.. but i often wonder if many of us still believe and feel the need to worship - and not the borg either .

  so here is a poll.... what religious orginization - if any - are you affiliated ( this does not mean you had to join it)?.

  or - do you feel that everything is wrong due to the borg..and will you ever consider going to an organized religon again??.

  No religion...my dub mother thinks I worship the mighty dollar because I'm working instead of witnessing...and because I'm putting money into a retirement fund instead of the kingdom hall fund...gggrrrr!!

  I have no spiritual interests...I feel like I've had a guts full already.

  The other one was xmas...cos that was for 'pagans' didn't u know?!?! It took me 2 years to have xmas...and I must say it went down rather well. Another hardie was going to an apostate website...I used to feel so darn guilty...I was still a believer when I first left. Now its a whole new ball game and I don't mind taking my turn to bat

  i think simon should have a button we can push with a "stupid" sign on it.

  that way if some poster ticks us off, we can push the button, and maybe stop flame wars?.

  I like that 'talk to the hand' gesture idea...what about 'I can't see you, gazing straight ahead, driving right past ya' gesture...that goes down really well when you're confronted with the 'finger gesture' or the 'peace sign backwards' gesture. I have lots of road rage gestures...driving into the city and home every day...you get really good at sign language...and I can also read lips
