No, and no. I certainly don't deliberately try to hurt other people, but I'm not afraid to speak up when necessary, and I am very grateful when my friends are honest with me. Sometimes the truth hurts (as WE all know), but we still need to hear it. Isn't that the way we truly grow?

YES! As someone said a few days ago, "You cannot truly love someone who will kill you if you don't". I think a God with millions of murders under his belt would definitely qualify as an international terrorist, especially since he didn't want to kill "Satan" in front of the legions of angels. No, it's much better to kill millions of people, including innocent children and babies.

pioneer 4 or 5 months a year when my seasonal job was over.
Yup, for about 6 years. I wanted to start right after graduation, but (HORRORS) I got in trouble with a boy and they wouldn't let me start right away. I guess I should have taken that for a big universal HINT...
By the last 2 years though, I was going out less and less, but magically my time always squeaked by. My decision to come off the regular pioneer list was a very big one, because I knew I'd never do it again. I really saw the hypocrisy, backbiting, and gossip firsthand--and it made me sick. Sick enough to pretty much stop going to meetings very quickly after quitting pioneering.

how do you feel about euthanasia for people that are terminally ill and have no hope of recovery?
should it be made legal for them to be allowed to die a peaceful death by a simple injection as opposed to dying a painful and agonizing death?
i ask, because a co-worker of mine is dying of cancer and he's in alot of pain.
I agree with all of you--I think that WE have the right (it's my body) to determine if we want pain to end. I think it's sad that many people are forced to endure pain so that the "family" doesn't have to say goodbye. I guess this just goes along with my thinking that our government has way too much say over what we do with our own bodies.

last year on memorial day a group of about 14 east coast ex-jw's met together in providence ri.
i had the pleasure of being able to have most of them back to our apartment for dessert, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting local people with a similar background.
i was able to meet zev, somebody, red horse woman, scumrat, sister act, doc bob & his wife, as well as others whom i can't remember their online names.. this year, i would like to get another group together on memorial day again, and hopefully we'll get even more of a response this year.
Just wanted to check in to see how many people are still interested in coming to our apostafest this year. I need to get a basic count so I can find the best place to have everyone meet. I'm looking forward to meeting those who make it!

ok, this has probably been discussed before, but, how many here have tried the atkins diet?
did you have a good/bad experience with this diet.
the reason i ask is because i went to my doctor and my bp is way up.
Although I haven't tried the Atkins Diet, I have to mention something to those of you who may try it. If you are blood type A, you can potentially severely damage yourself. From the research I have read, blood type A's should be vegetarian (due to ancestor diets and the lectins in the meat). I personally know about 10 people who were blood type A and have ALL had their gall bladder removed already--because they were meat eaters.
I personally would not advocate anyone going on a diet that excludes fruit and vegetables over fatty meats. I wholeheartedly agree with the diet in one aspect though--the avoidance of carbs when possible. Our diets have way too many wheat products in them, and they simply bind us up. The more I read about eating according to your blood type, the more it has made sense and has proven true as I meet people and hear about health ailments/surgeries/diseases/allergies etc.

seems president bush is somewhat peeved that canada is considering legalizing small amounts of marijuana............those who have small amounts would no longer face jail time, but it would basically be treated as a traffice ticket.

I think it should be at the very least decriminalized--it's disgusting that we have pot users sitting in jail when rapists, murderers, and child molestors go free. It's a PLANT that has many more environmentally friendly uses than just smoking it--which is not any near as harmful as most of the things in the average medicine closet.
And besides, if Canada wants to legalize it and America is going to be bitchy about it--maybe I need to jump ship. I'm sick of being told what's right for ME and my body. That's my decision--not my government's.

and they really don't understand why all of a sudden you are not so kind and nice to them anymore, cuz they haven't done anything different, it's just that you see them in a different light now, and can't really be nice and kind anymore.. do you know that feeling?.

back when i was younger every dream i would have would come true.
it kinda freaked me out since they were not always good dreams.
i don't remember too many of my dreams anymore but a couple weeks ago i did and it did partially come true the very next day.
I am very highly intuitive, in that I can "read" people pretty accurately. Sometimes it feels very strange because I can meet someone and instantly feel like I've known them for years. What's even weirder for me is feeling strong connections through jwd--especially since I don't post much. But I read a lot of the posts, and have felt very strong connections with certain ones.
Another thing for me is that complete strangers find it very easy to talk to me, and many times tell me things nobody else knows about them. Because these things have happened since I was very young, I now have very strong feelings about ALL humankind being connected. Which in turn led to me quitting meetings because I DID NOT feel there was true love towards all people.
I have also had weird experiences where I "heard" someone tell me something, before the actual words came out of their mouth. That really freaked me out one time because I actually answered some guy in a park who was commenting on our dogs--BEFORE he said it, then of course he said it and so I had to say thank you again. Very strange....
Now that my mind is free to explore all these things though, I have an intense fascination with them. I guess I feel like we all have the abilities--it's just learning how to use them. I have been reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being Psychic--which is excellent for me because it has a lot of information in it and it's easy to understand and follow. I would someday like my own tarot cards, because I think they tap into a certain energy also. Anyway, that's more than my 2 cents worth. Great topic Spice!

Congratulations on your fun first day! I used to bus tables (did it for 2 years), and loved it because I had fun. I think that's the key with any job--have fun and enjoy the people you're with. I hope you continue to enjoy it!
