my story, need advice:.

divorced unscripturally from jw husband 5 years ago.
I have to chime in on this one,
I have at different times in my past, been deemed technically "scripturally not free to remarry," and been on the other side of it like you are. Both situations let me to a profound conclusion: I will never let a man, or group of men, be the arbiter of my moral conduct. Some of the code in the "Pay Attention" book is ridiculous. I was not allowed to be free to remarry for years, because my ex-wife would leave her boyfriend's house just before sunrise to let her dog out at her own apartment. The book stated that she would have had to spend "the entire night." Ludicrous!
Never again! I have a deep sense of what is right sexually for me, being do no harm to others. That is enough for me, without a group of three dolts trying to sort it out for me with their limited grey matter.

guys, for those who know me here, i apologize in advance for being such troublesome pain in the ass.
i have had some scary low spots these past two years, and was imo on way too many meds.
i really had a death wish for awhile, and do not want to revist that feeling.

The longer you go without drinking, the more your old self will return. Remember that alcohol is a depressant, and drinking as much as we did has an affect over time. It probably took me six months to get on an even keel. So don't get down on yourself, or expect that it will change overnight.
As for the meds, if they are not working talk to your doctor. They had me on Lexapro for a while and it did help-me. But trust your doctor and be honest about what is going on with you to him.

what will we do when the persecution comes now that the book study arrangements is gone.. what a joke!
for years the wts has being telling us that one of the purpose of the book study is that we can meet in small groups when the persecution starts, when we are banned the book study will be the only way that we can get our spiritual food and instructions from the governing body.. now how will get these vital instructions?.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my devout mother.
She told me of the new arrangement, and I asked that very question. Her answer was that "the Governing Body must think we won't need to do that afterall."

i've heard stories from people multiple times about their trips to california and how they were surprised to find out how lax the witlesses out there were concerning rules, behavior.
just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that.

Well, I think that California is just like anywhere else. There are conservative and wild JW's, and conservative and liberal BOE's. We had that in the midwest also. We had some great parties in some congregations, and some were dead. I always tried to find the cool people to hang out with.
It is a local problem that happens everywhere.
