Had to convince my old Witness mum creaking in the roof and T.V set at night is not DEMONS!!!
by Witness 007 inyes late at night the roof creaks....and the older t.v {picture tube} makes a creaking sound when cooling down at night....of course at breakfast she thought it was demonzz because i had the playstation...."violent game"on....which was starwars not so demonized.

by mentallyfree31 inwhen you look back over the 130 year history of wt, what is the most bizzare/ridiculous/hilarious/absurd teaching or quotes that you have found?.
one of the ones i find hilarious is during the beth-sarim affair, rutherford announced that the world was laughing and mocking them because they don't believe the resurrection is going to come to pass when they said it was.
rutherford went on to say in effect "we will show them when people start coming back from the graves"... lol.

Does anyone remember when the Revelation book had a page with pictures of jets and tanks and war. It said that this was a literal sign of the times. Then the next time we studied it they told us to ignore that page that the teaching had changed. Nu-Lite. I remember putting a big X on that page. I guess Jehober got it wrong the first time.
Believing that the demonz will come and get you if you listen to certain music or watch certain movie. Hmmmm, maybe that's what "The Ring" is about. Demonz come out of the TV and get you after a week. At least they have the courtesy to call a week ahead of time.

Here's a great book about women. It goes into detail about women and how they think and why they think it. It's a pretty amazing book.
One thing I remember from reading it. Do you realize a woman thinks about 10 to 15 different things at one time. Their mind is constantly thinking about something and they hardly ever relax. Unlike us men. When you ask what are we thinking about when we are watching the game and we say nothing, we mean absolutely that. All we are thinking about is the game.
There's also the same book for women about men.

it's one of those movies that words fail utterly to capture--which really is the hallmark of a good movie, i suppose.

Wow, can't believe no one has mentioned The Boondock Saints and The Boondock Saints (All Saints Day). Very edgey films with thier own unique style. Two brothers believe God calls them to become vigilanties and wipe out the mob.
The Nineth Gate: Great Johnny Depp movie about the Devil.
Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow: Cool modern movie made like a 1930's sci-fi film. Almost the entire film except for the actors is digital.

More "sex texting" on Facebook...Circuit Assembly
by dudeson inso my congregation just had their circuit assembly on 3/14.
recalling the thread about "facebook sex", i told a non-witness friend at work that after this assembly is over he would notice one of our mutual friends would either lower his time on fb or delete it altogether.
sure enough, come sunday night, his profile was gone.

Hmmm, so that's why my sister was all crazy on the phone the other night.
She kept going on about having to get off Facebook and the internet. She said she was addicted to Facebook and need to spend her time more wisely.
That was 2 weeks ago, funny I just got 3 Facebook notices from her.

she was very very strict but i loved her then and always will.
after the death of my mother i waivered back and forth with my spirituality only because this was my first chance of "freedom" and being in the world to do things that i never really got to do.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I would think very carefully before making any decision. There are some faults within the organisation but it's minor compared to the satanism and rampant drug use in the world. Are you married? If not finding a decent mate amongst the world is nearly impossible. Wife swapping and casual sex are the norm these days. It's depressing.
WOW, what world are in living in. I've been out for over 10 years and I've never seen rampant drug use and satanism. I've also found a very loving, caring, and good hearted woman that loves me unconditionally.
Never seen the wife swapping either. Casual sex, yes there's that but you make it sound like nobody outside of the Borg has any moral values.
There are million of loving, caring individuals that strive hard to live a good life and be good to there neighbor. The Borg love to fill the mind of their followers with evil thoughts of the world they live in. If you just open your eye and look around you will see some amazing people.
