  jehovah witnesses live in a conflicting environment.

  for over 125 years the watchtower bible & tract society has been proclaiming the end of the world is nigh.

  it is to be replaced with a new order where only those espousing their beliefs will live.

  harumph........once again, what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. I know that many of us can remember (not that long ago) how we didn't invest in property, ie BUY A HOUSE!, because it showed a lack of faith in the nearness of the ubiquitous end, and posed a financial responsibility that may detract from spiritual activity. How many are still "renting", have no health ins, no life ins, no retirement, and are too old or sick to get any of these things now? If you are under 30, you probably aren't personally suffering these repercussions, you may even have gone to college, and might have decent careers. But there is a sh*t load of older folks who are spending their "golden" years in poverty and suffering. And wtf is their "mother" when they really need her? She is buying and selling and building more buildings to house her "worker bees".....leaving the "spent" members to forage on their own. They CERTAINLY believe in investing, and they CERTAINLY know how to do it well. One would think they could share this wealth and write a few articles on "how to" buy and sell AND live forever. Among all the reprehensible deeds this conglomerate has commited, I find this among the worst. love, love, love..................and the r&f are supposed to take the lead from the top? How twisted does your thinking become when you try to quiet all this dissonance?

  how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even yearning!.

  honestly, do you think that jw's really like going to 3 or 4 day assemblies, especially when it's out of town, far away, and you have to take a motel room, and all the gas money and food money it takes, as well as having to sit down all day listening to endless talks...and that for 3 or 4 days in a row.. and often, they have to take a day off from work, to attend the friday meeting, so no pay for that day.. i think that the jw's are glad when it's finally over, not before.. .

  Get that Drama about "No College" into the hands of a child custody judge

  just finished reading the posts on this years drama, about timothy "pioneering" and how youths should not go to college.. it is crucial, if you are helping any parent win custody of their children from their jw parent, that you get a copy of the drama on dvd (someone stated it would be released at the end of the summer) and get it into the hands of a family court judge.. the wt already has a booklet about how jw parents and children should respond in family court, over custody cases.

  they use twisted reasoning and scripted answers.. this dvd will expose their lies and evil maliciouness..

  Elder Criticizes Going To Get Together If A Worldly Person Is There!

  my mom told me that an elder said in his public talk on sunday that we need to stay separate from the "world".

  evidently, the buzz is that there was a part being given by an unbelieving husband that has been recently attending meetings with his wife.

  the issue was not that this man invited most of the congregation and they went (including the elder and his family) but that one fellow unbelieving husband who is being studied with did not get invited because he was "worldly and still smokes".

  rules, rules, un-rules, rules - there is a principle or there isn't - jesus left us with 2 commandments trusting that we would use our god-given brains to work out the rest.....what a bunch of idiots! once i got into a discussion with an "elder" (i hate even using that word - meaningless) about "rules" etc and he said that people NEED to be told what to do, they can't decide for themselves - i was fading so fast at that point and that just added fuel to my fire. soon that is all that will be left - and how sad for them indeed.....

  hi too! sorry it has come to this for you, but try to think of it as one step closer to freedom! although i can't imagine my family in the borg being much more scarce than they are now, if i EVER get a letter like that, i will respond with a summons to a meeting with ME and my attorney. i would give it as much or as little attention as you need to, as long as you handle it the way you want, and not them. good luck! report back when you get time, will be anxious to see how it all goes.
