Sympathy Alert! Sympathy Alert!
by HadEnuf inour poor little brookie (whyamihere) got her poor little finger slammed in the door by my adorable grandson tonight (accidently of course).
she had to go to the hospital and get big needles stuck in her finger to releave the pressure and is now enjoying the benefits of pain medication.
i'm sure she could use some well wishes as fingers are very important and so is my lovely brookie (whyamihere).

My Granny (1902-1994)
by Junction-Guy inhelncon's post on grieving made me think back about my granny.
my granny was widowed and lived alone in kentucky in a 2 story house.. .
she was raised and died a baptist, though she didnt attend church much once she was widowed.

What heartwarming history JG. Thank you. It brought back such good memories of my two grandmothers. It was certainly a different time then. So simple.
My neighbor and I were talking about this today - how different it was when we grew up and visiting our grandparents - we found things to do w/the most mundane things. No video games or many toys.

my profile
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini live in mi and was raised a jw.
i left officially in 05, but my thinking had evolved before then.. if you're at this board, you're probably asking questions, or have asked questions and realized that the answers are not what you had thought they were.. if you're looking at this profile, you probably read one of my posts.. i suppose there is only one thing i would want anyone to know:.
it won't replace the years you believe you lost to the organization.. live your life that you have now and enjoy it.. often this means making a new life.

Hi BlackSwan!
I understand what you are saying....... I certainly don't hold any animosity towards those who move on.... I wish you every success.
Peace be with you also.
Hugs, Juni
I wanted to bring this back up here because I believe many didn't see it - I didn't. It is very funny! Thanks BlackSwan for the humor!

How long do you greive?
by helncon inas i was driving home from work tonight i was feeling uneasy which was unusual for me and then it occured to me that it was a close friends death anniversary(13-06-93), reflecting on my way home i thought of the good times that we had(i had known this person since i was 7 till he died at 16) and for the first time in many years this year i have felt at ease with this as the previous years i have always been a mess.. i still think of others who have died over the years but think of the positive and no longer feel the sad pain anymore.
have i moved on?.
so i ask how long does it take to actually get over the pain and hurt from loved ones dieing?.

My father passed away in 1985 on Aug. 18th. I never forget, but I don't cry like I used to do. It's different with everyone and it depends how close you were with the person (at least for me it's that way).
Best to you Helen.
Love, Juni
