stevieb- thanks for posting that piece, it's as windchaser says, how sad people who so strongly profess having 'the love' have to reminded to show it.
ajaxman- another amen- good post- question their doctrines & watch them hit the eject button
i found this material on a pro-jw newsletter, and i've had this personal experience myself and know many others who have also.
before i became a jw i experienced a tremendous amount of "love" from the congregation i associated with, but once baptized they leave and move on to the next potential convert.
as a single person, i was never invited out to gatherings very much and always felt a little left out in the very clique-ish congregation that i attended.

i just found this website on june 23- and haven't done anything else since!
i am spending 25 (lol) hours a day on this site!
i can't leave.
hi melissa,
i too feel this site has helped me recover, even tho i've been out for some time now, the damage seems to have increased- very few friends, no real motive for living- the wts techniques have taken their toll. this site has been refreshing to read of others' experiences & feelings- it helps to not feelso abandoned. thanks to all of you.
from reading your type, i get the feeling you would be a fun person to know as a friend- very energetic & personable. i sincerely hope the wts has not destroyed your character. i always enjoy your posts.

back in the early 90's i went thru a divorce due to adultery on the part of my wife...she got involved with a ms from a neighboring cong....who...he and his wife were our best friends...i lasted a year up north where it took place and left for the south....our case was one of 9 cases in that one year period....not to mention the birth of a child to the wt conductors daughter...out of wedlock....he remained the wt cond.
by the way....is this a special experience i had or have some of you ran accross such a "rash" of similar experiences??
?....call me old fashioned....but...i believe in commitment to your mate...if it ends...let me know it's over before the nasty deed is done...my ex wanted out of our marraige....and because of the rule in the borg...she devised a way to do it and give me the freedom to remarry...some of the other 9 cases involved an elder and a pioneer wife of a ms..my ex and the ms's ex were both pioneers....and the others were ms's and sisters with a lot of years in the borg...i am now blessed with a great wife and companion (tinkerbell4125 as you all know her)!!!!.
yes, things like this definitely went on in every kh i've attended- at first, i was shocked, but after yrs of watching the other jws turn & look away, i realized it was a normal occurence, it just went unnoticed
the last real "meaty" witness discussion i had with my mother, she said "you must have gotten that information from an apostate website, because that is the exact line of reasoning & order that all apostates use" i said that she was rude to call me an apostate, and that i am not afraid to read information, i like to gather facts.
(oh, by the way- that was before this website, now i am proud of being an apostate :-) thanks everyone) anyway, so i asked her what exactly the "unforgiveable sin" is.
she said "saying the truth is not the truth" so, i said- so if i say the witnesses aren't the truth, and really believe that, then later on , if i decide it is the truth, jehovah won't forgive me?
hi PS- did you inquire her sources when she accused you of visiting apostate websites, because that's their line of reasoning? how does she know this to be true? does she visit the websites?
yes, as with so many other scriptural meanings & applications, the wts takes their own human view, translated for their own benefit producing a 'new & improved' version of the text-of course, better than the Bible's meaning.

no i am not even contenplating of pleading for it.. i was reading pay attention to and i paid attention to 2 cor.
2:6,7 which were about the only next to appropriate verses quoted for the purpose.
reading around the verses (not normally recommended for dubs) did not assure me that those verses apply to reinstatement.
The term disfellowshipping is not even in the Bible. Jesus did not df anyone. Nor is reinstatement in the Bible. The closest comparison would be the prodigal son- quite different from WTS teaching.
The 'judicial system'- committee members & human judges- is WT based, not Bible based, we are judged & condemned with human eyes & hearts, not God's.
if you could "bump your head" and forget all the crap that came with being a witness, would you?
but, in some way, i think i have grown from the experience & have learned from it, and it has made me be a better personl, less judgemental, more tolerant, more open.
but, if there was a magic pill to erase it- hmm......hell yes i'd do it!
Erase it all? Yes, definitely. Sure, we are who we are because of our experiences have brought us here- I suppose it's because I can remember the oh-so-happy, bubbling, carefree, young girl I was pre-truth- sort of living by the 'a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet' philosophy.
since JW-dom, the programming has taken it's toll- I've battled with myself being too judgemental, non-trusting- after all, they're worldly people- they are not good assocoation, Jehovah does not approve of us mingling with them.
I've pushed some wonderful, funny, smart, caring persons out of my life- including 2 whom I'm sure were very much 'right' for me - in the sense of a 'soul-mate' due to the fact they were not interested in the truth. Their love, our relationship was real, the kind you read about- dream about. That pain lives to this day- I can never get them back.
1. teach your children that everyone they know that isn't a witness.
- baby sitters, teachers, policemen, the kind old lady who gave.
them a dollar for ice cream - are wicked, led by satan and will.
the creed of the righteous & humble god-like chosen ones-
dead on metatron
pardon my ignorance, having never been a jw, but what do jw's do on the fourth since they don't believe in flag and country?
can they go to friend's bar-b-ques?
is it ok if they go to a parade or firework display?
the JWs I knew would do as everyone else would on the 4th (sans the explosives)- gatherings, BBQs, picnics... only it isn't called celebrating the 4th- it's just a get together of the 'friends'
.
we have a bigg artikel in km abot our wuie on how to treat them in diffrent situations, not so much new things, but they confirm this harder treatment on dfd, as we have 1981.. not so happy for this, i think it is a bigg misstake to dont take this occasion to change to some more loving wuie.i can not follow why they do like this perhaps they are draw this to the end of the lione, but who are take the punnish for this, if not the averge jw, who i think dont like this so very much.. so i can not follow who they think, perhaps we have wolfs among us, who hurt ther members.. .
matty- are you certain it is the aug issue? how do you come about rec'ing it so early? I only ask as I may show up at the kh & cheerfully with huge grin boldly give a "HELLO!" to all in attendance, so was wondering the date they will be covering it- appreciated if you would possibly follow up with the date- thanks
the lower requirements of the wt has been brought up from time to time.
i thought i would summarize the ones i know of.
1. conventions used to be one week and go from early morning til late at night.
on the subject of assemblies- it was in a recent mag, jws are planning international conv in 2003- only 'chosen ones' are to be invited, a couple of brothers 'in good standing' from each kh- the gov body, of course, decided who these are
