I also forgot that 11 were reproved for gambling and one was an Elder and he was disfellowshipped. He won a trip to Disneyland:) The ship had a huge casino.

anyone here ever go on a cruise with a large group of JW's?
by PaNiCAtTaCk inive been on two cruises in the early 90's with large amounts of witnesses.
one cruise we had around 85 and the other 175. one night on the larger jw cruise there were 50 or so of us watching this comedian.
he started getting a little crude using words like penis so we all got up at the same time and walked out during his act.

No doubt he thought he was bombing out big time. Once we all walked out into the hall outside of the comedy club we all started clapping! We were so proud of ourselves! I feel bad for the guy still:(

counting an hour of time for a conversation with a work mate when they only talked for 20 minutes! Falling short of the national average by 2 hours but adding the two hours anyway, vowing to make it up next month.
I went on a carribean cruise once in the early 90's with around 85 witnesses and 11 got reproved for gambling in the casino. One was an Elder and he was disfellowshipped shortly afterwards. Most only put one quarter in a slot. The Elder ended up winning a disneyland trip. It was literally JW's gone wild. One sister was drunk all the time so the rest of us semi-shunned her for most of the cruise.

Franz's and Jonssons's work
by truth finder inthere exists many interesting facts in direct conflict with the watchtower society, or are just not brought forward for some reason or another by the watchtower society.
this is a well known fact amongst many observers, and previous witnesses, that the watchtower society either hides the evidence by not mentioning anything about the material, or indirectly by misquoting the source (as is the case of the ante-nicene fathers).
i have selection from raymond franzs crisis of conscience.

I have the 2004 version and it is amazing what the society has to ignore or cover up to stick with there 607,1914 dates. I think the book brings out there are now 17 major mountains of evidence the society ignores because they destroy the societies views. I recommend re-reading the 2004 version as it will only make your convictions stronger.

Simple Proof of WTS claims to be "Inspired" Prophet
by crazies in(deutrernomy 18:20-22)
however, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that i have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.
21 and in case you should say in your heart: how shall we know the word that jehovah has not spoken?

My first time being shunned in public
by xjwms inso thats what it feels like.. i am not df'ed or da'ed, ... i have just stopped going to meetings.
my wife is trying to be as active as she can.. so all morning i am out of my regular routine.
late getting out of bed and late about everything today.. so i leave the house, and before getting to the office, i decide to stop at the mall for a quick, maybe 15 min, walk.. as soon as i get inside, taking my coat off, here is the elder who did everything he could in his power to get me out...and lied...and added to gossip that ran me outta there.. he and his wife spot me .. and turn there heads away and continue on their walk, .. eyes fixed on some thing away from me.. so thats what it feels like.........now i know.

My wife and I experienced the same thing at Walmart last night with an older sister in the Hall. We are not Disfellowed and no announcement has ever been made. We stopped attending meetings after the Godly Obedience assembly 3 or 4 months ago. The funny thing is they gave a talk on how we should treat weak sheep and the brother giving the talk said twice " IF WE RUN INTO SOMEONE WHO IS INACTIVE WE DO NOT SHUN THEM! WE ENCOURAGE THEM AS JESUS SAID, REFERRING TO SEEKING OUT THE LOST SHEEP" Then he repeated the exact same thing again. Brothers DO NOT SHUN! I remember thinking that this counsel could really make it difficult for us to fade. Because, that was our plan.
But, the society has created such a judgemental group of people that weve been shunned by at least 75 percent of the witnesses in the hall for the last 2 months and they have also quit coming by. I guess they got tired of hearing about the problems with the org's beliefs and having no answer. The funny thing is, everyone basically knows were apostate and no elders have come by or tried to meet with us. I suspect the C.O will get them over here.

why celebrate christmass?
by Cordelia inok so its nearly christmass and i'm thinking of celebrating it for the first time, but i feel alittle wrong in doing so, i know all the witness reasoning of why its wrong and just wondered what your reasons are as to why its right!.
i have a 3 year old little girl and would love to make it nice for her (tho my family would go mad!
) im thinking of getting a baby tree (one that can easily be hidden!

Its not about you anymore. Its now about your daughter. Raiser her to be a normal kid and not the confused
kid who's odd. It may bother you a little at first but I PROMISE IT WONT BOTHER HER! Days of the week are Pagan. Wedding rings are Pagan. What ever we do now Eat, Breath, Sleep, the pagans already did it! -

Mention of Jehovah's Witnesses in popular entertainment
by enderby ini don't know if this thread has been done before, but can anybody think of times that jehovah's witnesses were made mention of or joked about in music, tv, or movies?
for example, there are a couple of simpsons episodes, one were marge alludes to being so desperate for company that jehovah's witnesses ran away when she went to get them more lemonade.
another time, two jw's approach the simpsons' house and one turns to the other just before ringing the doorbell and asks "ruby, do you ever think we should get real jobs?".
