Any introverts out there?

i took freedom frogs personality test yesterday, three times.

my lowest introverted score was 67. i think that borders on recluse.

are you comfortable with that part of yourself?.

I try to be a little more outgoing without making the mistake of attempting to be something that I am not (for example, the life of the party). But I am perfectly happy hanging out with a few people and having a half hour or so go by without any words being exchanged. Unfortunately, for many other people, that makes them uncomfortable. So depending on the situation, I'll come up with something meaningless to ease their discomfort.

i just watched a documentary about the peoples temple cult and was suprised to find there is some intresting similarites between there attitude beliefs and the watchtower society.. they began as an ordinary group intrested in morals and god and jim jones gradually manipulated them to the point of murder and suicide.. he would reprimand people in front of the whole congregation playing on peoples fears and guilt to the point where sometimes he would encourage others to hit a " wrongdoer".as he got more control over the people they feared to leave and anyone that spoke about leaving was turned in by there own family, hmm that sounds familar.

jim jones feared some that got out and tried to shield the congregation from bad press which is why around 900 were " encouraged " to leave america and go to guyana to what they called jonestown.he told his members that they couldnt leave and that the world would harm them if they ever left.. at one time he passed around a cup to drink and then told the congregation they had drank poison then after they panicked he told them it wasnt true he was just " testing to see how loyal they would be to him".. when they moved to jonestown they set up there own paradise.they grew there own food and made themselves completly independant from the outside world.they built there own homes and would have no outside information except a loudspeaker which jim jones spoke over and used recorded speechs on even throughout the night.he was telling them that the whole world was coming to turn on them and kill them and take away what they had.. when they said they wanted to leave he would say they were committing " blasphemy" by leaving and they would change there mind.. sadly at the end they encouraged mass suicide and took with them a visiting congressman.. paradise quickly turned into chaos and a nightmare and it got me thinking about the wachtowers utopian dream of paradise on earth.if they watchtower cant get things right now how the hell are they going to be capable of governing the whole planet in " the new system.. this isnt the same documentary but heres a link to one documentary about the peoples temple.

I saw Storyville on Jonestown last night too. Jim Jones was one creepy guy.

Please somebody remind me of this if I start trying to convince you at some later date to come join my commune. Seriously.

Why do these commune things never work out in fiction (The Beach) or in reality (Waco/Jonestown) or does anyone know of one that has lasted without mishap or indeed continues on today?

Oh you lucky girl! It's so rare to find ones who do - hang onto him for sure. I dont think the age difference matters that much. He sounds like a responsible guy. He hasnt been put off by the fact you have kids yet has he and he seems to regard you with long term committment. Don't rush things - you have plenty of time.

Why I like being a Jehovah's Witness

there are so many reasons why i like being a jehovahs's witness.. 1. we get to count time when we share our faith with nonbelievers or our young children.. 2. we don't have to go to college to get a good job as a janitor or a window washer.. 3. we get to celebrate the birth of a child but not the anniversary of the birth.. 4. we don't pass a collection plate at our meetings and we get to put in our wills that when.

we die that our house, cd's, jewelery, life insurance, and cash can go the the watchtower society.

so that our family doesn't have to worry about those things.. 5. we don't have to be with our families during the holidays to enjoy each other company and eat the.

Big Announcement on next Service meeting

there seems to be a very important announcement this coming weeking on the next service meeting, forme it will be on wednesday 30th jan.. during the last 2 meetings they have asked that every batized jw be at that meeting and even to tell others who might not have heard the annoucement.. anyone here have any ideas i wouldn't be surprised if they are changing meeting times and arrangments...less meeting at is !.

I just got a senior citizen discount

.. and i don't know whether to scream or eat a banana.. i walked into a barber today to get a haircut.

the prices were posted outside with a haircut going for $15.95.

i got a very nice haircut and when i was ready to leave the barber said, "that will be $12.95.

Are you concerned that your idea of a good time is to drink wine and watch a movie ALONE?

I spend 95% of my time with no human contact at all. Many weeks I don't leave my apartment at all and my phones are usually switched off.

I kind of just prefer my own company to anyone else's most of the time.

So when at a party, an extrovert would rather make small talk with everyone at the party, and spend the bulk of the time talking with a large group of 4 or more. While an introvert would rather spend the whole time with only one or two other people.

I am definitely the latter at a party, I hate if I have to talk to more than a couple of people. I totally clam up and get embarassed. I'm most likely to be found outside with a fellow smoker.
