I don't think Forscher's comment was stupid at all, and his race matters because it's the only reason many of his supporters are probably even voting for the idiot.

That is a characteristic of my daughter, too.
We went to a child counsleor together and one of the best things she said is that spirituality can be your connection to anything bigger than yourself: humanity, charity, respect for the earth. Spirituality does not have to encompass a 'god'.

with this new light, i am starting to try and figure out what to do with my life and my time... now that the world is opened up for me to finally explore.. i have been wondering if i will return to celebrating the holidays with my 'worldly' relatives.
my parents, brother, and in-laws are all witnesses.
i have pretty much rejected the holidays say for 25 years.
I decided that they are going to stay up all summer long.

I only talk to a few of them now. I divided myself and my kids from them and admit that the bond is essentially non-existent. So, holidays are spent with my inlaws, and that hurts just as bad.
Birthdays, I do celebrate but the hoopla is gone, even for my kids.

Where I'm from, it is the 7th and 8th grades only. Where I live now, it is 6th, 7th and 8th grades.

i see where many of you have jw family members that give you a ration of crap once in a while; i've heard many rationalizations as to why some of you refuse to speak out.
as many of you know, i wrote a series of letters and exposed my apostasy formerly; in the letters i told my family they had better beware of shunning me of treating me like a pile when they run into me, i realized that i couldn't make them accept me into their houses, but in public was a different matter.
i basically told them that in public, especially at funerals, that i would rain down a load of crap on any family member that shunned me or treated me badly in anyway.
I truly believe its our fear that keeps us from making an impact. We have no strength as we do not stick together, refuse to speak out boldly... we fear what relationships we might lose all the while ignoring the fact that our cowardice allows others to suffer. If we all banded together, refused the shunning or exposed what was happening as to cause the shunner remorse for their actions, or even shame...then I believe we'd see a change in how we are treated.

Real life in the real world does not allow for shunning. Only jw's world.
At some point, if possible, make them own you (your relationship), not the WT.
