  Hi Jez -

  I've missed your posts and am happy to know that you still love us (!!! hehe) yet sorry to hear about the pains you have gone thru. It was not in vain, though. You have identified more truth for yourself and for your family. By posting your experience, I am confident that more than a few people will be able to avoid a little pain themselves and perhaps save 6-12months in time striving after something rather futile.

  At least it allows them/us an opportunity to better weigh the pros and cons.

  Thanks again for a thoughtful post. Real nice to see you again.

  WOW.

  I remember presenting the Roe v Wade decision to my class for current events. As I recall my parents had just started studying with the witnesses. It was just a current events article but I remember standing before the class full of 9 year olds and explaining what abortion was and why the case was important.

  There is so much in that article that I have not heard. I didn't realize her name wasn't really Roe (why would it be??). No inkling that she was raised JW and never would have thought that she flip-flopped on her view. (Oh. well... that must be the JW in her...!)

  Dr. Vs. JW Mom on TLC "Real Stories of the ER" Last Night

  well there was a show on tv last night--and i am a real tlc fan.. anyhow, you know the routine, 16 year old kid comes in, massive trauma, jw mom does not consent to blood.

  as precious time is ticking away the dr. decides to try to get a court order.. bottom line, she is successful and saves the kid.

  she goes into the hallway to apologize to the jw mom, who tells her something along the lines of "thank you so much for saving my son.

  The words just came out like that..!

  I wish I had seen that episode. What idiotic logic that mother had. Think of all the time the doctor wasted while trying to circumvent the mother's 'conscience' only to have her express that all is fine. The doctor could have been treating other patients or spending time with her own family rather than dancing around thru the system to secure the court order.

  I hate my new job heheheh

  hey all,.

  well the rose coloured glasses are off, so i worked my trial period of two days which i didnt get paid for.

  so anyway turn up monday, i was getting more confident with the software still not to good with all the accounting stuff but hey its been 8 years since ive done it and even then it was high school.. anyway come the afternoon i was stuck on a few things and he doesnt really explain to me the hows or whys just do it.

  Some employers are so incredibly stingy when it comes to employees and especially when training is involved.

  A few years back we shared office space with another dentist. That dentist's office manager was moving out of state and she was expected to train her replacement. The dentist thought he could get away with paying the departing office manager HALF her salary since the trainee would be 'picking up the slack'!! LOL What a jerk. The office manager left the next day and let him train the bimbo newbie.

  Sorry for my little digression. Your story reminded me of this ridiculous stunt.

  i'd recaptured the "community," (or, perhaps, better said: the "community" had recaptured me).

  my wife and i were invited to one party after another, old friends, and new friends.

  indeed, there was a considerable degree of subliminal suspicion about me; after all, i'd been dfd, and who knew what i really thought?

  I read this about 15 minutes ago and had to get up and leave my computer room. I just don't have words to express unidentifiable feelings.....

  I can only barely imagine the horrible pain of just writing this part of your story. Let alone living the ordeal in the first place.

  My hope is that you find a little more healing during the process. You are very brave to tread here. Many would refuse. I know this story gets happier at some point so I continue to look forward to your next installment.

  Thank you for sharing all this with us. It helps to dispell some of my own painful past.

  Told I have anemiai and neutropenia

  does anyone here know what the hell that means, just spent a week in the hospital for cellulitis, and while there the blood tests taken, many of them everyday and then i have been set up with appts with internal medicine and the hematology/onconology clinic.

  so if anyone has any insight into what this may mean please to let me know.

  Celllulitis can be life threatening - it's a very serious infection that requires hospitalization.

  Anemia is a blood disorder concerned with red blood cells.

  Neutropenia is a blood disorder concerned with white blood cells - the ones that help fight infection.

  You might want to google the words at least to get a basic understanding of some of the terminology so that when you meet with your hemotologist (blood specialist) you will be better able to participate in the treatment planning and decision-making.

  Welcome to JWD.

  You are in the right place and you will get much response to your inquiry. It's a little late for most of the posters right now but in the morning you may want to reply to your own thread to bring it to the top (bttt).

  You ask a great question and I'm not sure how to advise you.

  Please know that most of here are EX-witnesses. Some are still active but in name only - for the sake of maintaining their family relationships. A handful are current, active witnesses and many are, like yourself, concerned family members.

  While waiting for replys, you may find it helpful to look thru some historical postings. Perhaps look in the 'Best of' section and the 'Relationships' section.

  Pour yourself a cup of herbal tea (or a glass of wine!) and get comfy. There is so much information on this site. Don't be shy to ask the questions that you want to ask. We are not easily offended.

  It's really a great site. I think you will agree.

  Who's the most generous person you've ever known?

  my uncle gus .

  he was one generous person.

  my uncle died back in 1999. he just loved giving and making people happy.

  My grandma. Grandpa, too. They were overly generous with us kids when we little pagans.

  Then my parents starting studying with the witness and restricted the gifts from grandparents.

  Eight years later my parents moved us 3000 miles away.

  Eventually grandparents showered their generosity on the kids in their neighborhood and gave us just token gifts occaisionally.

  In her final few years, she and I became rather close and we talked frequently (from opposite sides of the country). She died 4 days before my trip to visit her.

  I miss my grandma. We both missed out on alot.

  Cults suck.
