I don't waste time with crap like that! I would be embarrassed to know me, if I did.

i, and many other well meaning posters here, have asked you dozens of questions.
you have dodged them all for the most part and spent your replies on personal attacks, or just plain refusal to address the questions posed.
your favorite retort is typically ad hominen attacks or a red-herring thown in for good measure.
defd: Look at some in here. They have talked to P.O'S, C.O'S, Elders and even written the society.
Not one has shown me a single solitary Scripture to support the teaching that the FDS is a class of people.
Without that foundation, the teaching of Governing Body authority (magisterium) and the teaching of two classes of sheep with distinct destinies come sharply into focus.
You are correct, you cannot do what they have been unable to do. You cannot show me what does not exist. But, you already know you can't find Scripture to support for that teaching if you did nothing more than a cursory investigation. You will wake up eventually. I will be available for conversations when you do, believe me. I won't hold this rejection due to cognitive dissonance against you.
You might look at it this way, "If I can't explain my beliefs from the Bible, what are my beliefs based on?" That is what we are instructed to get people we meet in the field ministry to think about. Well, if you apply it to yourself, you will find some GLARING shortcomings in your own religion.

Dave,
It isn't polite to ask the impossible.

i know this sounds like a "totally" stupid question and i don't mean to offend religious people but i was talking to two jw's elders the other day at my apartment.
they came by even though they know i am disassocated and don't want to go back to the wt.
they think they can convince me that they are the truth and i would go back.
RevFrank,
I hope you accidentally misspelled mormon there at the end...

being that we for the most part agree that jehovah does not really appoint elders and ms, can we also conclude that jehovah does not have a hand in annointing the fds.
if this is true what would be the character flaw of these men especially the new ones who are only in their early fifties?
if someone studies phys.
OC,
To start with, if you are talking about the Governing Body you have fallen for a psychological trick they play. They weave the two together so seamlessly that they get others talking about the GB and FDS as if they are one and the same.
Secondly, if you are talking about the new additions to the GB, the character flaw in colloquial terms would be "brown-nosing," bootlicking, authority whoring, because the FDS does not vote on members of the Governing Body. The Governing Body appoints new members. Of course, they would say the Holy Spirit does the appointing, but I haven't seen them pull out the Urim and Thummim at such times.
There is no Scriptural basis at all for the JW teaching that the FDS is a class of people. Without that central support, the GB folds by itself without even a push. There is no basis for their claim to authority in any respect. They stand between God and men in much the same way the Pharisees and Sadducees did.

I think we feed his arrogance. He can tell himself he stood firm against the attempts of apostates to inject wicked reasonings (i.e. reasonings that make logical sense) into his heart.
LOL, whatever gets him through the night.

this is a question for those that believe in a god or gods, particularly those described as "all knowing" or "almighty".. how do you defend to yourself that your god has not in any modern situation saved his people from anything?.
people of all faiths are regularly killed by various natural elements.
of course, if you knew such a thing was going to befall a person and you could do something to protect them, you would.
Big Dog,
Love of your daughter is a perfect analogy. You know you do, you know you have basis. Can you explain it to someone who has never had children in such a way they can fully understand? No way.
Some aspects of reality are real whether we can prove their existence or not. Some apsects of existence we have to experience to comprehend and language can't be used to explain it. Despite what some may believe, it is possible to conceive of things we cannot explain with language. It is impossible to explain a concept to someone else if the language cannot accomplish the explanation.

the next time you fall into pessimism ( it happens to me too!
) consider the year 1968.. the war in vietnam was raging, the us lost its 10,000th airplane in the war, the tet offensive took place, johnson gave up in seeking.
another term as president, the russians invaded czechoslovakia, robert kennedy was murdered, martin luther king was murdered,.
And in that same year, in that environment, we were reminded again and again of the significance of 1975.

organization and the faith.
what hope do yall entertain for the future....the everlasting future?
do you still believe, want to be on a paradise earth or what?
defd,
I second Brenda's words, however I understand and appreciate AK-Jeff's motives in posting, too. What you want from us you are not willing to give to us. You want an environment where you can feel free to express your views, that means you have a responsibility to ensure this environment remains that way for others. It is called "responsibility," it is a concept that comes with freedom.
Feel free to enjoy the forum, but don't abuse those who hold it up. You may very well be looking for comfort someday and although many here (including myself) would gladly provide it, you might find that your own wracked guilt over how you have treated us stands in your way to prevent you asking for much needed comfort and consolation from those who understand first-hand what you are going through.
