this is a response from one of my best friends in the whole wide world who is way "in" in the org.. it's amazing how for such an intelligent, reasonable man that doesn't agree with many of the tenets of the wts party line, ultimately he still tows the party line for the most crucial jw doctrine.... the role of the fds as the sole "channel" for "god".
i knew it was inevitable... he is the only dub that so far hasn't shunned me..... the following is an excerpt of his personal letter to me.... please read it and critique it.
(highlight are mine).
For me, all that crap reasoning they use falls apart after reading only two scriptures: Luke 17:1-3 and Roman 1:28-2:11
Where can they go away to, after that? By attaching themselves to an inexcusable organization, they make themselves inexcusable.

The Worship of the "Wild Beast" - Why True Christians Refuse
The book of Revelation reveals that pressures would be applied to earth?s inhabitants to become worshipers of the Devil-controlled "wild beast." We are informed that all persons would be put under compulsion--"the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead, and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name."--Rev. 13:16, 17.
The "mark" of the beast would identify the one having it as belonging to that "wild beast," giving it full support. Ellicott's Bible Commentary notes that the mark "surely means the acquiescence to the principles of this tyrannical world-power."
Now the question is, Could a true Christian give his full assent to the "wild beast"? Not if he wants to remain loyal to Jehovah God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 13:8 states that the "name of not one of the worshipers of the wild beast stands written in the scroll of life of the Lamb."
Who received the mark in 1992 when they used the credentials that obliged, not merely acquiescence to but, support for "the principles of this tyrannical world power?"
If you guessed "WTS," you guessed correctly!
the bible attaches importance to your name, do you like yours.
if not, what would you change it to?.
i always hated mine, outaservice smith.
Odrade: I LOVE my screen name, even if no one knows how to pronounce it... it has meaning to me.
If you are named after Darwi, I would say it would be pronounced either "o-DRAY-dee" or "o-DRAH-dee" since she said her name was derived from Atreides.
If not, I have no idea. Spill, spill. Dispel the mystique once and for all.

I agree, FMZ. A wondrous gift, however she came to us. Of course, I cannot discount the biological forces that are forcing me to view her this way...and that way.
the national average for publishers reporting feild service time in the untited states is just under 10 hours a month.
this has become the de facto standard for every member of the congregation.
if one fails to produce at the rate of others, he is "weak", his service is "divided", he puts the things of "this life" in "first place.".
Well, someone is working 10 extra hours for me ...
... oh, and Welcome Zack!!!!
hopelessly stained,.
i saw you posted once and ran for the hills by deleting what you wrote ... its okay, we try to keep the ones that bite in their cages.
if you aren't ready to talk yet, please know you will be welcome and heard when you are ready, so long as you remain cognizant that those you post to are real people.

i wasnt the most academic of children although i had some capability but i could read quite well by the time i was 4 years old at least for my age; i have always read as a child and still read now as an adult both professionally (research) and for pleasure.
i have always been able to write too...and pretty much advanced as well as my peers did in school...perhaps i am lucky, i certainly feel like i am when illiteracy amongst adults and children is rife at present...however.. i remember when i was 16 the wts in the uk were pushing through a scheme teaching those who were not as able to read and write...and an elder in the hall made a point of coming to me and suggesting that i should actually attend the training!!
!....i explained that i could read and write well enough and didnt need to be taught basic literacy... he said that i might learn something new and should respect jehovahs order of things and show appreciation...i did decline his kind offer rather abruptly....but wtf??
"Faithful sheep don't get easily stumbled. If someone stumbles they must have already been unfaithful."
Direct quote. I laughed, turned to and read Luke 17:1-3 aloud and asked, "Was Jesus right, or are you right?"
i always liked what richard dryfress said in the movie "alaways", when he found out he was dead---"wow!!
!-----what a jerk i turned out to be"!!!!.
my mother's head stone says---------"i told you i was sick"!!

i just saw the dateline piece.
i have been trying to avoid watching it because i already knew how hard proof of the allegations is to come by, and knew just as well what kinds of emotions it would bring up in me.. .
if any jw has not seen it, try to find a copy to view.

If any JW has not seen it, try to find a copy to view. While you watch the piece, think about the kind of love Christ said would be evident among his disciples and see if you can find what's wrong with this picture. I bet you can. That is why you were warned not to watch it. That is why Barbara Anderson was DF'd. Because if you watched then you would know, and those custom-fitted blinders don't fit so well afterward.

now here's a unique way of expressing a person's idea of going to heaven:
obituary says: "mr. matlock was never concerned about his destination, only about the trip.
jim's concerns were put to rest as he passed very peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Schizm: Yes, as a matter of fact, I DO use the same sort of logic. True, it leaves me disagreeing with the WTS, but I don't see the 144,000 remaining in heaven as spirit creatures after the 1000 years is up. Revelation 21 shows the 144,000 returning to earth at the end of the 1000 years. Just as Jesus served his purpose in coming to earth and then going back to his original abode, the 144,000 will have served their purpose in going to heaven and then coming back to their original abode. Other than temporarily, men weren't created to live anywhere other than on a physical plane, even as angels weren't created to live anywhere other than on a spiritual plane. Angels who actually attempted to change their proper dwelling place (in Noah's day) were punished for having done a wrong thing.
So, those who go to heaven will be responsible for perfecting those on earth and for judging those who do not prove worthy of life during or at the end of the Thousand Year Reign?
Correct me if I am wrong, but if the 144,000 is symbolic of all true Christians and they would only be going to heaven for a short while relative to forever, wouldn't God's original purpose still be served? At the same time, 1 Thessalonians 4 and 1 Corinthians 15 would suddenly make a lot more sense.
Curiously,
