We had a sister in our hall that was EXACTLY like this woman... she had to quit going out in service, had to quit attending meetings, I saw her outside her home with a GAS MASK on... she was sooo allergic to everything.
I really do believe that intense emotional problems can cause disease. (Although not in every case but in many)

OCT 1st WT SLAMS HIGHER EDUCATION.....AGAIN
by Mary innot sure if this was posted yet, but the boys in bethel are at it again.
the october 15th botchtower study article is, not so surprisingly, very negative and down on any parents that are encouraging their children to go to university.
i don't have a scanner here, so i'll have to highlight some of the more vomitous (is that a word?

Keep them ignorant, keep them poor, then all they have is the "hope of the paradise" when all their dreams can come true.
Rather than education, hard work, and earning their way to their own home, their own share of things.
My mother is a staunch JW advocate who is ANTI-education and she raised me in a trailer while we pioneered.... and when the "joy and contentment" of pioneering didn't feed us we accepted government food and food stamps.

Imagine The Governing Bodies' Frustration.....
by metatron inif the heads of governing body members aren't ready to explode yet, i suspect they shortly will be.. the organization is long accustomed to a certain dynamism - that is rapidly evaporating.
the result is that they must now.
work hard to maintain an image of dynamism!

You the lack of change and lack of adaptation is precisely why businesses fail. They think "wow we've got the market, we've the sole producer, we're the best, we're on top" and if they won't change things around, introduce new products, or change advertising or their market eventually things just dry up for them. The same thing will happen with the Watchtower as has happened to other businesses who believe they were a monopoly. Eventually the lack of change kills you.
Madonna is still in business but you don't see her still wearing a cone bra do you?

1914 Has Been Strongly Re-emphasized ( Oct 1 WT)
by metatron into all you people who naively think that the geezers at watchtower central are slacking off.
from 1914, i've got bad news:.
they are emphasizing it strongly, as if to quell any thoughts about its abandonment.. the oct 1 watchtower with the cover "do you recognize the sign?

So they honestly and truly believe that Jesus Christ is the "invisible" ruler up in heaven right now? with everything that is going on I think maybe he needs to resign along with Michael Brown our ex-FEMA director.
Seriously what generation is going to stop this nonsense and realize that it's all made-up? I thought my generation, being 30 now, would have been the largest group to leave but there are still teens and people in their 20s that they have to sell this stuff to.

JWs Love It When Something Bad Happens To Ones Who Have Left The "Truth"
by minimus indid you ever notice how jws act when they hear that an inactive jw or a df'd person had something bad happen to them?
almost with glee, they give that *look* that says, "we told you so".

They do that for sure... but then when someone is sucessful and seems to be doing well they completely ignore the person.
There is a girl who left when I was a teenager, people act like she dissapeared off the planet when in all actuality she's married to a millionaire and living a charmed life, although no one ever talks about her.

defd, Re: Leaving JW's and reading the Bible daily
by DazedAndConfused inthe other day you created a thread with this question: .
does anyone who left jehovahs organization, still read the bible daily?
honestly do you?

I would also liken it to reading your instruction manual on your new TV or new car, you read it, learn how to use the item and that's it. No need to read the instruction manual over and over every day.... better to put the information to use than to read about it.
You are also given policies and procedures when you start a new job, read them, stick to them, get to work. If I spent an hour every day re-reading my employee manual my boss would fire me.... it's all about putting things into practise.
