My missis had the same treatment back in the 60's ,I hoped that things were more sensible now. But no, these elders just shoot themselves in the foot by stupid comments that reveal them to be the Pharisees that we suspected them to be.

at 8:02 p.m. the time and date will read 2002 2002 2002. that is 2 minutes past 8 (twentieth hour in the 24 hour clock), on the 20th of february, 2002.. apparently next time this happens will be 2112 2112 2112. i think last time was 1212 1212 1212. not sure of that though.. good excuse for an extra-cold vodka-martini, methinks!.

i read all this stuff that you know, friday and all the other so called biblical experts write about the creator and his purposes for mankind.
they take any bit of the bible that they fancy and weave their own fantasies around so-called prophetical scripture.
they talk about greater and lesser fulfilments, types and anti-types, greater this, lesser that.
E Man, Once again I have to concur with the simple logic of your post.
The Jehovah who would plan the mass slaughter of 6,000,000 people, or near enough, is in no way the God that we know and still love.
I think I know my Father and he is just not like that!!
When pushed, the dubs can only say, "Well, he has done it before, at the Flood".. We know what the Bible says, but there is something wrong somewhere . Common sense and love for humanity cause me now to recoil from those teachings...

I was one of those elders once. The kind for whom the fulfillment of your School Assignment was a big deal, as was getting your report in at the end of the month. Largely because my job was made difficult if the brothers didnt, and so it goes around.
I have guilt now. I am sorry for all those kids I encouraged in the J W way, I am sorry for all the rubbish that I taught as fact. I am sorry for the lad that I once "Brought in the truth", my one big success in decades of slogging in "The Ministry". I wish i were able to find him and tell him what I now know.
At least I can add a small voice to the net . If any one is lurking out their and still active in the faith, for Gods sake read on - pick up all the points from the sites, and find a way out before your life is gone....
i took a look at my wies isaiah book where she had it marked and checked out tonight's assigned material.
it's astonishing to me that anyone with even an average intelligence could choke this stuff down.

My wife is out at her Group study right now.. I feel exactly the same as you.
But where we differ from the "Sheep" is that we think aboutit. They are happy to be fed the same crap over and over again. The last thing they want is for anyone to ask ,Why?
When I conducted groups like that ,the idea was to cover the material in the time. You certainly didnt want anything else than to accept the "Truths" as put forward by the WTS...
Trouble is they just cannot see it, can they?
i remember going on field service with a pioneer sister then afterwards she asked me to accompany her to look in on one of her studies, i said yes and ended up in the house of a really nice indian lady.
my friend had offered to take this lady's daughter off her hands for a while and take her down the park so off we went - nice summer day, we sat while the little girl played on the swings and slides, we brought a bit of food and went back to the park to sit down and eat, as we were eating, the girl started talking about armageddon.
the conversation was getting along nicely - little girl slowly being succesfully brainwashed...... the poor little 8 year old girl ended up in tears - she was scared of the earthquakes and didnt want to die, she didnt want her mother to die, and even though she believed they would both be together in paradise earth, her dad would die and stay dead, nothing my friend could to cheer her up so i coaxed her into going back on the swings and all was well till it was time for her to go home and the tears started again when she told her mother of her concerns.
Its a strange thing, that these "nice" friendly folk can be blas'e about the anticipated mass slaughter of the best part of six thousand million people!!
I am looked on as strange, I am called "Mad" by my dub wife because I cannot any more accept that our Father would ever do such a thing . They seem to blank out the horrors, too busy thinking about their vine and fig tree,I guess.
The ressurection too - that is strange now that I can look at it from a rational point of view . I also hear the comment "At least he will get a ress." when someone famous dies.
i know a brother and his wife, she was a pioneer for many years, and he rather than returning home stayed because "we need you j..." well the congregation may have needed him, another zombie is always useful.
but when i think about how they have to live thier life now, the watchtower retirement for loyal dubs, is welfare, and social security.
it makes me sick they have no children and no means to really get along they are dependent of the government they hope to see exterminated at armageddon.
The Watchtower retirement programme is the same as the Pioneer sustainance programme -
"Matt:6;33 "Keep on seeking first the kingdom and all these other things will be added to you"
In other words , if you are fortunate enough to live in a land where the working population contribute to a welfare scheme, you claim on that , and view it as a gift from Jehovah , rather than the horrid Government that cares for you.
why have you only negative things too say, wee all now that it is a lot of positive things too say abaout jw, the only religion who say no to war, and give there lifes for it too.. the bibel say one peopel who come out from all this mess, and stad for the name of the ord, who else do this?.

I cannot really believe that you are for real. But on the off chance that a Swede with a terrible grasp of English would actually make such a post , may I say that I too used to believe all that the WT. said.
I used to swallow their self proclaiming ,trumpet blowing about the love of the org. - until I found out for myself that they are no better tham many other groups in this way.
The issue of nuetrality and non warfare is obvously big with you, as it is with me . I am still as horrified by the events as I was when a dub. But what about the millions of conscience struck people who also refuse to fight . A new film highlights Mahammed Ali who refused to go to Viet Nam , and was certainly not a witnes!!
I am just saying that they cannot claim the sole rights on conscienteous objection.

Many's the time I spoke against the "rule book " approach when I was active. To be fair , the society also spoke against taking some of their guidelines and turning them into inflexible rules.
On one issue my wife and I had a disageement with the local body of elders and she referred back to Watchtowers on "Conscience" from the1970's. They just shrugged and said they were not in the truth back then.
Some people would much rather follow a perceived rule than have to take the responsibility of making a decision. Particularly if they can find a "rule" that agrees of course with their own opinion .
Just like Pharisees.

Thank God I never cleaned windows, i knew enough about myself to realise that I would be no good at it. When I Pioneered , it did not last long. I soon found myself s t r e t c h i n g out the calls, walking across town via the shops to do a "not home" call, and getting thoroughly dispirited .
A wise elder told me I was better being a good publisher than a bad pioneer , so I went and got my old job back.
