maybe i missed an early post on the death of luther, but i just wanted to state that i am a big fan of his music and knowing that i will not ee him again in concert or wait with anticipation his next cd certainly makes me sad..

I Saw Dubs.... In 80+ Degrees at 11:00 AM Today In Full Uniform

for the first time in over a year..........maybe longer.............i saw dubs in fs at 11:00 am today as i was about to enter a local eatery for lunch.

i just had to stop and watch them for a couple of minutes with mixed feelings.

these feelings went from loathing to pity.......no iota of guilt on my part though!

Being a JW in Florida during the 70`s, Blondie`s correct we did wear light cotton materials, and brothers were allowed not to wear their jackets as long as their shirts and ties were presentable. Sandals were allowed for girls and the sisters. Of course the weather has changed alot here since then, if it`s possible, the summers are alot hotter now!! Thank goodness I no longer have that worry! (dressing-up unless I want to).

I remember going to district assemblies in Atlanta and the heat being sooooo unbearble during the summers there too. I was young but I recall some older girls and some of the teenage girls wearing halter-dresses at this time,and thinking, WoW!!! that is cool! After that I made my own sun-dresses, and halter-dresses!!!!

i need advice for throwing a party

my parents are allowing me to throw a party so all my worldly friends can come and hang out.

there will be drinks, swimming poool, lounging and food, poker and black jack too!

is calling a week in advance enough time?

Pool parties are always a blast!! And I believe a week should be fine to let people know, unless you are inviting someone that doesn`t live close by you. Sometimes Sundays do work out better for some, because you know probably alot of people work on Saturday.

"Pool, sun, & fun, along with drinks and food, come on and let`s get this party started"!! What a great way to start the summer!! Hope you have a great time!

i know some of you are land locked and some have never seen an east coast beach, soi took a few pics!....

Nice pics. Rich, love the east coast beaches! I live a few blocks from the beach in Florida, Cocoa Bch. ( near the sapce center). We sustaind alot of hurricane damage last year, hopefully this year will be mild. I`ve been to Ocracoke Island many times myself off N. Car. love it!! Bonfires! We can`t have those here.

does anyone have any ideas for a birthday gift/surprise/whatever for a 24 year old?

my brother turns 24 tomorrow and has never had a family member do anything for his birthday.

i would like to do something but really have no idea what to do.

Living with a family full of musicians as I do, I definitely like the gift certificate ideas for music"stuff" or maybe a DVD of a favorite band he likes. You can`t go wrong with musicians and rock-n-roll T-Shirts either! Does he drive?? Maybe something for his car?? Carwash certificates??
