My mum has a pet dwarf rabbitt...she puts a tie on the rabbitt and takes him door to door and to the bible studies....
Better make sure she doesn't knock on my door. My cat WILL attack the rabbit for sure.
i forgot this cooky thing that i wanted to share with y'all.
my mum has a pet dwarf rabbitt...she puts a tie on the rabbitt and takes him door to door and to the bible studies....maybe she's compensating because i left the dubs...it all sounds like she is not playing with a full deck, it's funny and kinda sad at the same time.

i just wanted to say hello to everyone.
i'm an inactive, spiritually weak witness of not so good standing who stumbled on here the other day while trying to find out what tomorrows big announcement was going to be, after being told my mother that i might wanna go to the hall on sunday to find out.
it's cool seeing so many people who have shared some of the same experiences i have in the past.
Welcome to the forum, Johnny. You're in good company here.
today, i bought one of those nifty shower heads that come off the wall and have pulse/massage type settings.
well, i didn't follow directions and i ended up snapping it right off the pipe....oops.
so, i took it back to the store and said..."i don't know what happened.

Are YOU a bad person? Check this out.. when I read this first line of yours, I thought the story was going to go in a totally different direction.
done, and done...what do you think my purpose was in purchasing a dual massaging removable showerhead in the first place?
OOHH (pretends to be shocked). Hahaha, a few years ago, I bought such shower head for the exact same reason. When I came home and installed it, I had to try it out right away. Unfortunately, it isn't as 'strong' as they said it would be. There is no pressure at all, and I've been living with this sad thing ever since.
As for bringing it back.. I know someone who bought a 4 pack of underwears at Wally world. After he had worn and washed them, they shrunk. He brought them back to walmart, insisting on getting his money back.
i've been invited to a memorial on thursday.
i'm currently unsure of my beliefs (somewhere between agnostic and christian, with an interest in science).
i have been baptised twice - catholic by sprinkling, and seventh day adventist by immersion - and have partaken of the bread & wine in both religions (although come to think of it, the catholic priest always kept the wine for himself).
jaffacake,
At first, I misunderstood your post. I thought you were joking, thought you wanted to partake just to be a pain in their necks. But after seeing your reply to Narkissos, I understand that you are sincere. Whow, good thing you posted this and asked. Yes, I remember when I was a (catholic) kid, sometimes there were people who did not partake for various reasons. Some felt unworthy, often because they had sinned one way or another, and it was taught that, when you have a bad conscience, you should not partake. But in the JW congregations, the 'communion' is not something that's being passed around every day, like in many churches. No, it is only done once a year during the memorial. Only the 'anointed' ones are supposed to partake. (Last year about 8,000 people took the bread and wine).
Unlike in most churches, where people get up and go to the front, at the kingdom hall, people remain seated while the bread and the wine are being passed around.

did Jesus say anything to suggest someone like me should not partake?
As a matter of fact, no he did not say such thing, but the WBTS did.
my teenage son is visiting this week, and was concerned that he was missing the "special announcement" being made today.
he was very suprised that i already knew about the awake being only once a month.
i told him i knew of that several months ago.

So, this book is only for baptized ones. This makes me wonder... is there anything in the book that someone who studies with JW's should not have access to??
hmm and 'stay close to Jehovah's organization'? Interesting indeed..
i love the united states of america!
it has freedoms that most countries do not have.
it has variety.
Hmm.. good question. I have lived in 6 different countries on 3 different continents and visited about half of the world in my young days. I don't really care where I live, as long as it is in the middle of nowhere.
Okay, if I had to choose.. Australia sounds good.
i have been lurking here for a few days but decided i need to jump in as i need some serious help!
i got into a relationship with a jw.
i worked with her for over a year, got hurt on the job and was recovering for about 5 months.
Welcome to JWD, PAJA.
This is tough.. I'm thinking you might want to approach this carefully. Print out a few important things from this site, like a thought on 'this generation', or a thread on 607 BCE, or a story about how someone sold his or her belongings in 1975, because the WBTS suggested that the end would come in 1975. Don't overwhelm her with anti-WBTS information, it would only confuse her. Be honest, especially if you want to pursue a relationship with her, make sure it is based on honesty. Tell her that you have looked into the JW religion, and that you have serious concerns, etc.. etc..
has anybody invited you to go to the memorial this year?
do you expect to be invited?.
usually elders come over a few days before to invite me, but they didn't come yet....
oh oh, I just got my schedule for next week at one of my jobs. I have to work Thursday night. Unless I can switch with someone (which will be really tough to do), I can just hear all the comments right now. Satan knows that you are spiritually weak. He made sure you were on that schedule to work next Thursday, this is your chance to take a stand against satan. You know, if you give satan what he wants, you prove yourself to be against Jehovah, and blah blah blah blah.. Just to avoid such 'lessons', I really should go, sigh.
i just dont get how people can stay in a religion that constantly changes the "truth".
never mind the scandals, that is a seperate issue.
but the foundation of a religion is its doctrine, how can you believe an organiztion that constantly changes it.
how do you rationalize staying. it blows my mind.
The reasons are different for each individual. There might be as many reasons to stay as there are to leave. Why does a woman stay with her husbamd even though he beats the crap out of her every time he is drunk? Perhaps because she has been taught that standing by your man no matter what, is the only right thing to do. Perhaps she doesn't know where else to go. Perhaps she hopes against better judgment that he will quit drinking.
'Mistakes' made by the WBTS are usually turned around in such a way that the fault for such mistakes are on the member's head, not on the GB's head. When 1975 came and went, the blame was put on 'overzealous publishers'.
There is also the issue of guilt. Has anyone tried to leave without the elders taking them on a guilt trip along the paths of spiritual weakness?
Pressure. When someone leaves, they often lose their entire family. How many people are staying in (with their body, not wih their heart), because they know they will be shunned if they quit going to the meetings?
Teachings, and especially the repetition thereof, reach deep inside. If you have been taught for as long as you can remember that the WBTS is God's organization on earth, it takes more than someone telling you that 607BCE was just another insignificant day in history. Proof doesn't mean much, because you have been taught that such 'proofs' are just satan trying to lure you into hesitation. Separation from the WBTS does not always come easy.
