  Lack of evidence in "Insight" *gack* book supporting stake theory.

  after a short discussion regarding the cross vs. stake theory with my grandmother i decided to refresh my memory of the wts doctrine regarding this and it's supporting arguments.

  i was surprised to find that they only used one supporting reference to their claim.

  it's a quote by john denham parsons written in 1896 (interesting that it took over 30 years for god to mention this to his mouthpiece).

  I know I'm resurecting an old thread but....

  About the Cross versus the stake does anyone have any information on E.W. Bullinger (especially his appendix 162)? His thinking fits in line with the WTS of a stake. He was around from about 1837-1913 or so. He wrote that Stauros definitely meant stake and never cross. His appendix 162 can be found online. He seemed to write some weird numerology stuff about the bible too.

  I'm trying to review each of the society's backups for their stake doctrine and dismantle for myself.

  Vine's complete expository of old and new testament words also seems to support the WTS doctrine.

  i had in the past two years allot of arguments with my jw friend .last night we talk about the un thing as the wild beast and he said that is not true the media just say so.

  as we go on arguing according to the wt prophase is being fulfill as in the bible book of daniel ?the seven empire?

  and the last one now is the anglo american empire and in the past only 6 world power the world had seen so far and now we witness the last one anglo american.

  This may be too simplistic but past WTs have stated that the march of world powers contains only those world powers who interfaced with God's people (whether ancient or modern day). Thus the great empires of the far east incl China and Mongolia are not even considered.

  hi all.... i have not spoken nor seen my dad for about 3months now after he would not allow me to borrow cds for my up and coming wedding to a "worldy guy" because borrowing his cds means he would be supporting my mariage.

  even tho the relationship between my mum and i is now strained as a result she still keeps in contact and suggested that we all meet at the shops one day for lunch so dad could see my son.

  i agreed as i felt it would be nice for my son to see his pop again...but also was a little upset as dad hasnt gone out of his way to see my son.

  Since he called and hung up perhaps he is wrestling with his conscience. Perhaps he wants to talk with you but can't bring himself to; yet. I don't know but that could be a silver lining in your story.

  to me, the 1000 years that jws promise after armageddon is a really dumb doctrine.

  basically, everyone who cacked before armageddon is going to be resurrected, and everyone on earth is going to grow perfect during these 1000 years.

  then, bastard jehovah is going to let satan loose for "a little while" to basically clean out any evil that is on the earth.. so, what's the point of paradise erf?

  Since most of us think you're crazy you are defaming the name of Jehovah. You should know better than that. I'm disappointed that Jehovah keeps using modern day crazies to spread his word.

  Also, you are going to make serious dub searchers think apostates are crazies.

  okay i read this qfr but missed an interesting point (i think) until the 4/15/05 wt do you remember section which references the 1/1/5 qfr.. wt 1/1/05 qfr: does stephen's exclamation at acts 7:59 indicate that prayers should be directed to jesus?.

  5 says this: "but, seeing the resurrected jesus in vision, stephen apparently felt free to appeal to him directly, saying "lord jesus, receive my spirit.

  Don't worry. Read my previous posts. I'm ok (I think).

  I just found it interesting that the WTS used spirit and didn't explain that it would only be the memory of Stephen that Jesus would keep in mind until he was crowned king in 1914. His spirit wouldn't have been resurrected until then.
